Reviews of Fairmont Pittsburgh
"If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Pittsburgh, stay at the Omni. This stay was full of so many errors I can’t imagine it’s normally any better. Upon arrival I am not greeted by anyone to help with bags and lug my stuff in to the lobby. I go to check in only to be told that our room is not ready. It’s 6pm. I’m given two vouchers for drinks and appreciate that but not having a room ready at 6pm is insane. The front desk woman was nice and apologetic. Once our room is ready it’s nice but the carpets and walls have definitely seen better days which is sad for such a beautiful building. We head out to dinner and when we return to lay down we notice there is dried blood all over our comforter. I call downstairs and they called housekeeping to change our bed and apologize and tell us we have a breakfast credit for the following morning. While I’m not sure how a bed gets made with blood splatter in the first place and how unsanitary that is we accept and move on. We go to breakfast the next morning, wait 30 minutes before having water put in our glass. It was an hour and a half ordeal to simply order breakfast and it wasn’t very busy. Just completely left sitting there multiple times. But who are we to complain about free breakfast. Except apparently it wasn’t free despite my husband going to the front desk to verify it was because I have now received an email at 1 in the morning that they are trying to charge my card for it. So now we have to continue sorting out the mess a week later despite verifying with them twice this wouldn’t happen. This place is a comedy of errors and bad service. The only reason it gets two stars is the bar is nice and it has nice views. Stay elsewhere for the very high cost."
"Nice updated rooms, very clean. Nice bar and restaurant its small but still a good place to go. Located perfectly downtown by market square and about 25 minute walk to the strip, 30 minute walk to football/baseball stadium and hockey arena."
"The room was clean, and the service was welcoming. I would have given the stay a 10 instead of a 9, if my check out bill wasn't charged for the room refreshments/snacks in which I did not use. I had to call after my stay to inquire on the charge. They indicated I used 2 waters and other items. I am not sure how they determined this when that wasn't the case. In the end, my charges were refunded. Just watch the bill."
"Great hotel. Rooms could use a little refresh, not dirty or anything, just feels a little old. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very nice, and it never hurts to have a Starbucks in the lobby. Great location. Would definitely stay again. Great view from the room of PNC park."
"Everyone was very kind and attentive. I expressed an interest in seeing historical places in Pittsburgh and the night front desk clerk told me about the train station and even showed me pictures on his phone. Later on, a valet told me about how the nearby Buhl building facade was rediscovered and preserved. And even later, a bearded gentleman at the front desk gave me a tour of the glass artifact exhibits displayed on the first floor (and throughout the building), much to my delight. Aside from my pleasure in the attentiveness of the employees, the hotel has a very convenient, private drop off/pick up area, an excellent central location close to premier restaurants, sports stadiums, and other attractions. The bed was very comfortable, the room was absolutely clean and the views were great! Highly recommend!"
