Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cumberland - La Vale, an IHG Hotel

"We broke down on our way home from DC and the entire staff was polite and helpful. The halls and rooms were clean and they had one of the best breakfasts we've had at a Holiday Inn Express. If ever in the area, I recommend staying here."

"I was up this way for a friend's mother's memorial service and booked last minute online. I thought I was booking directly but in haste booked through 'Guest Reservations'. Upon checkout I noticed a balance much lower than what I paid online (and a MasterCard vs the card I used for incidentals). Upon inquiring at the front desk I was told by Brandi that it's through a third party site. Additionally, I forgot to add IHG rewards and since I did not book on their site did not receive points. I thought $ 275 a night seemed steep for Garrett County! Lesson learned. Rooms were what you'd expect, and we were facing the parking lot so the views were US 40 and the mountains lol. Service was standard, nothing above the ordinary. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool and about 9 kids piled in and ran amuck. Continental breakfast was jumpin the next day. Fans were going on the carpet so unclear if they recently had them cleaned or there was some other issue. Food was again what you'd expect, Cracker Barrel might've been a better option. Location is good if you're in the area. Every time I'm up this way it is scenic and there are nearby things (Rocky Gap, Frostburg, parks, lakes) but I wouldn't consider this a destination hotel."

"Overall a nice place. Room appeared clean but, one of our beds had hair all over the sheet, under the douvet. They quickly changed it out for us as they didn't have another room for us to move to. Beds weren't very comfortable for us. They were very firm. Shower pressure was nice though. Good breakfast and very friendly staff."

"I can't give them a fair review without actually staying here. I stopped by to pick up some friends and waited in the Lobby. It was very clean and certainly modern. They had a nice sitting room with a TV and fireplace. I did see the seating area they had for their morning breakfast. They do have a pool and spa. They do stay very busy usually full of travellers and out of the area construction crews."
