Reviews of Penn 1 Family Dental
"I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. Very south philly, run down, money laundering kind of vibes. I've been very ill from a tooth infection. I visited a doctor who told me I needed to have the tooth extracted as soon as today. I was so relieved to call this place and find out they could take me as a walk in if I headed over right away. They told me my insurance covered the extraction which I was extra grateful for and I decided to come early, even though their hours show they close at 6. When I came in, the two women at the front start trying to talk me out of my visit and told me i would have to pay $400 to be seen.... after them telling me it was free over the phone... When I told them I was just told over the phone it was free, twice in a row ( I called three time to check because I was anxious), they started attacking me verbally and screaming at me. they stared screaming " i never said that" "i dont even know why im talking to you" "you're making me so mad." as I'm telling them, I'm literally not upset at you. Just trying to figure out whats going on. They also randomly said "im going out at 4 actually for dinner" I've NEVER had a doctor take their mask off and scream at me and say "youre making me so mad" just for asking them to explain what was going on. This was really disgusting"
"Horrible service, nothing here makes sense. Why schedule appointments for 9am if nobody is there at 9am to open the place or even be there. I’ve been sitting outside 20 minutes waiting with 3 other people who had 9am appointments scheduled and they’ve been here since 840, even the dental assistant is outside looking clueless. And then google says you open at 10… please make some kind of sense of this. But wait there’s more! So after finally opening at 945 and letting. The patients in. They let me to the back only for the doctor to numb me up before telling me that my insurance wouldn’t completely cover the procedure (because he was trying to do extra stuff that I didn’t ask for) can you say Malpractice. I’ll be reporting all of this."
"like a few other people have said, i had fillings done (old fillings redone) here only to continue having pain. i had to go back in 4 different times to have filling shaved down so that my teeth didnt painfully clack / block me from biting down or chewing. filling was still sensitive. now, going back a year and a half later, ive learned that the fillings they did have rot under them! have to get them redone. those were fillings i had for 20 years with no issue, then they do them and a year and a half later the issue is worse."
"I would like to start off by saying how much I hate going to the dentist!!! Like truly hate it! Today I had an appointment knowing that I needed some major things done. I went in and the staff were so very nice. The dental assistant took my ex rays and got me prepped for the Dr. he came in and went through everything I needed done and he really took the time to make a long term goal for me. He had the front desk lady come in and break it down by price and help explain to me exactly how my own Insurance worked lol. She was very friendly and funny. As they all were. They were by far the nicest and non judgmental dental practice I have ever visited. They took every step to make sure I was comfortable during the removal of my wisdom tooth. I actually looked forward to seeing them again soon to finish up a couple things on my long term care plan!! I highly recommend them!!!"
"HORRIBLE! DO. NOT. GO. HERE. They ruined my teeth. I had fillings falling out a day after they were done. A small filling they did is now a root canal because they drilled so much tooth away trying to replace the filling that repeatedly fell out. I had to have a tooth pulled that they did a root canal on. They did not seal fillings properly causing the tooth to decay underneath. It has cost me thousands of dollars to fix the damage they did to my teeth."
