Reviews of Giant Eagle Pharmacy
"Absolutely abhorrent service for a pharmacy. There is no communication between employees. Refills are almost impossible to get filled without SOMETHING weird being done with them. Went to pick up my allergy pills last night, because it was the refill date. Shouldn't have been an issue. They had me wait for about 20 minutes to ultimately end up getting ****1**** allergy pill in a pharmacy bottle. They said to come back today, and the prescription will be ready. I was fine enough with that solution. But I get there today, and they tell me that my refill will be in on Monday. No, that's not what I was told. That's not acceptable. You don't make people wait days for their DAILY MEDICATION, especially after saying that it would be available the next day. After waiting for another 20 minutes, they gave me the allergy pills. So if you had them, and I was told yesterday that I could have them today, it's not a supply issue. What are your prerequisites for qualifying to pick up a prescription if you're just hoarding the medication, and it's not a supply issue?! This is not the first issue I've had with the pharmacy; just the latest in a long list. We'll be transferring our whole family's prescriptions to the Lower Burrell location, where we have never had issues, because Leechburg Giant Eagle can't handle the task of just BEING a pharmacy. Wait time will be long. Incredibly long wait. 3 cars in front of you, 3 cars behind you. Going inside does NOT cut the wait time down. That particular part of the store is constantly congested with parked shopping carts and people waiting past the line dividers for their medications. They do NOT care about their customers. They want you to be out of their face as soon as possible, and to shut up, essentially. None of them seem to have an intellectual grasp on the concept that people NEED these prescriptions to live their lives. Edit to say: IF YOU CANNOT GET THROUGH ON THE PHONE TO THIS PHARMACY, CALL THE FRONT DESK UNTIL YOU HAVE SOMEBODY FROM PHARMACY ON THE LINE. THEY LITERALLY LOWER THE VOLUME ON THEIR PHARMACY PHONE, SO YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY NEVER GET THROUGH."
"Unacceptable. Called on Tuesday to have an Rx transferred to this location and I was assured it would be done, but it was not, and I never received any communication. finally on Saturday my Rx is being filled with a substitute brand. When I brought my concerns to the pharmacist and the pharmacist techs they were apologetic but clearly had no intention of remedying the issue. Again unacceptable, very very disappointing and frustrating."
"The pharmacy does not provide great customer service. Went inside 45 minutes prior to the pharmacy closing to get a flu shot and was told they didn’t have enough time to assist me. I called a couple hours before arriving and no one answered the phone for over 20 minutes. I visited the Giant Eagle website and read that walk-ins were accepted and you could fill out your paperwork online to save time at the pharmacy, which I did. Upon arrival, I was the only person there. No one else in line or in the drive thru. The employee advised me that they didn’t have time to assist me because they’d have to fill a script for my flu shot and it takes “a very long time” to do so. I said I followed the websites instructions as they advertised, showed up 45 minutes before closing, and attempted to call with no one answering the phone. She laughed, walked back to what I am assuming was a pharmacist, and came back just repeating herself once again and laughed. Unacceptable customer service. This is unfortunately not the first issue with this pharmacy as they have given me the wrong prescription in the past and have even openly told me on another occasion that they gave my prescription away to another customer because they were short on supply, which was the most baffling thing I ever heard, especially since I arrived the day after receiving notification that they prescription was ready for pick up. I unfortunately also overheard an employee in the drive-thru be rude to an elderly woman because she was having difficulty using their new payment machine in the drive thru. The lady was so upset she walked back to my car, said the employee was unwilling to help (which I could hear from my vehicle) and asked me to help her with the machine. I felt terrible for how she was treated. The pharmacy is a revolving door of employees with different people every time you walk-in or visit the drive-thru, and very rarely are kind to their customers. This location seems to know they’re the only pharmacy locally with zero competition and it shows in their poor customer service skills."
"Have had issues, but the same has happened elsewhere. Find me a perfect pharmacy that has not irritated someone at some point. Staff is normally nice., but like anywhere else you can always feel when it's been a stressful day. So pooh pooh on the really bad reviews. No human or business is perfect...hence the review process...ugh!"
"They don't refill prescriptions right away when called in from a doctor. They have bad customer service. Always have to wait as well. Their notification service is a joke. I just took my last family members business to Rite Aid. If I were you, I would do the same."
