Red Roof Inn & Suites Hermitage

"Generally, when people share poor reviews of accommodations, I take them with a grain of salt since even the most basic of accommodations are generally fine with me. However, the reviews of this Red Roof Inn do not lie. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. There was no hot water (I was told I could only get a discount if I stayed an extra night because my room was already paid for...???), the doors to the outside were not locked (even past midnight), front desk staff was very odd, and I was put directly next to a room with a very loud tenant (I believe they lived there). When I requested to change my room, the front desk attendant muttered something about how he knew this was going to be a problem, and could only offer me a room all the way upstairs or ONE room down. I changed rooms, put my headphones in, and was able to get some sleep, but I've never left a motel so quickly as I left in the morning. There wasn't even coffee or hot water to make my own tea. Bedding was clean and bed was fine, but the hallways did have an incredible odor and the entire property is in need of serious maintenance. Red Roof Inns are always my chain of choice when traveling since I travel with my dog, and the beds are always comfortable. But this property is truly awful. I know the owner has responded to negative reviews acknowledging feedback, but instead of responding and not taking action, I'd suggest spending less time responding and more time taking action."

"Called from I-80, deskperson couldn't even tell us what exit to take. One bed looked like it had been sat on, had bedspread but no comforter. No towels. Whole place generally rundown and needs multiple patching. No lock on the outside door. They graciously and promptly refunded our money. Never again for a Red Roof, in our experience they are all lower than "budget"."

"This was honestly a zero star experience. Decided to overnight instead of make a long drive, found this location on the Red Roof member website. Proceeded to be assigned two rooms, both of which were not clean, not warm, and not inviting. Demanded a refund which I still have not seen on my credit card statement. Suggest Quality Inn next door, clean and reasonable."

"This motel is $2 cheaper than Econolodge The price of the room is good from what we were paying when we were traveling to different states. NOTE: They do not serve the continental breakfast in the mornings. Also the little pamphlet they give with the list of channels is incorrect. It actually appeared that the TV did not work however it does actually work you just have to play around with the remote for a minute. The TV is a very basic and a little bit small. We had a sound sleep for the night, we we're not disturbed by any other guests. Also do note that there is a washer and dryer located on the first floor however the washer was broken so there was a out of service sign. I believe they were $1.50 each. It might have been good if they were working because it would have offered something that other motels do not offer. There is a small fridge in each room. NOTE: that there is not a freezer but if you need something to be kept Frozen you can leave it in the office."

"Honestly was not impressed by this hotel. I know the automatic response from the owner will say something about how they are taking this review to heart and uphold customer satisfaction, but if that is the case do something about it. Don't just talk about it make improvements. We checked in and thought the price was too good to be true. We got all our stuff in the door and then had to switch rooms. The second room has a very strong unpleasant odor. The walls are half painted and unfinished. There are some outlets without covers, really these receptacles need replaced. The TV was unplugged and had to stretch it across the room to find a good outlet. Only in the room for about 30-40 minutes before checking out. The smell was too much to handle. Front desk staff was really good and issued a refund. I will say the staff was exceptional but the state of this hotel is not good. Dogs stay free is another plus. We had planned to stay at other Red Roof hotels over the course of our vacation, but this experience has led us to other options. After leaving we checked the reviews and realized we should have looked at it first. I don't leave one star reviews very often but this is a 1 star establishment. Instead of replying to this review FIX YOU HOTEL!!"
