"Just got off the phone with Maureen, after being spoken to like a child and my competency insulted over an $80 bill. I was referred to Summit Smiles from a 3rd party, as my daughter was required by PA law to have a dental exam for a program she was entering. What should have been a routine annual checkup - free of charge - somehow turned into $80 due to additional services neither mentioned nor authorized by me, her father, who was sitting right in the waiting room. Whether this is "standard practice" or not, which I'm willing to accept and would deal with my insurance after the fact...I was hung up on, and then told 'I was unbelievable, it's my problem that I didn't read my statement of benefits, etc.' The conversation went from mildly rude to a disaster in 3 minutes. I realize the "customer isn't always right', but there is still a level of professionalism to be expected. Now, I'm going to be petty, and copy and paste this on every review site google provides."
