"This is a horrible credit union. The website, app, and customer service all suck. Avoid them at all costs. Edit: These guys respond faster to these complaints than you can get a human on the phone so that’s gotta tell you something. The fact all of their branches have a rating in the 2 star range also has to tell you something, avoid them. We needed to get a medallion signature guarantee to rollover an old 529 savings account into my daughter’s new account. My wife had to schedule that and then she showed up a little early to wait. They had somehow messed up their scheduling or something and they were running very behind so my wife ended up having to wait more than an hour past her scheduled time for someone to finally help her. Even though they were very obviously MD529 rollover forms that say clearly on them that they need the medallion signature guarantee the person was very rude, seemed to not know what that was or why it was required, but then did eventually do the stamp and finish their part of the forms. Maybe there were new at that, or they don’t do it much, but they shouldn’t be as dumbfounded by what should be a simple process and they especially shouldn’t be rude or extremely late. We’ll just drive the extra hour and use APLFCU if we ever have to do that again. They’re always nice and competent. This was pretty much the last straw after problems at the 2 other branches we used. We closed our accounts and avoid this company. Their website is horrible and confusing compared to other banks. Same with their app. There’s nothing good to say about this place."

"I recently had the pleasure of visiting APG Federal Credit Union, the Edgewood branch and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. I would like to express my utmost gratitude and appreciation for the outstanding service provided by McKenna one of their amazing staff members. From the moment I walked through the doors, McKenna’s warm and friendly demeanor immediately put me at ease. She went above and beyond to assist me with my banking needs and resolve any issues I had. Her professionalism and attention to detail were truly commendable. What impressed me the most was McKenna’s remarkable patience and understanding. I had no choice but to bring my grandson along with me, as he was released from school early that day. "As a potential new customer, definitely not impressed. We applied for a loan, didn't hear anything for over a week. Sent online messages several times with only a "someone will get back to you in 24-48 hours" reply. When someone finally reached out to us from the loan department, they said they never received any messages. So it's obvious the bank side doesn't talk to the loan side. The loan people are great, it's not their fault their organization is run so haphazardly. So now we are trying to open a membership, a condition of getting the loan. We submitted all information on their web site only to get a reply back several days later saying they rejected the application because they couldn't verify the documents we submitted. We literally submitted the same documents for the loan and that went through just fine! So now, my wife and I must go into a branch (which is tough because we have different work schedules) and give them, in person, the same exact documents we submitted on their web site. Originally, I was going to move all my accounts to APGFCU. Now, I'm just going to use them for this loan. Because if this is the way this place is run, I don't think I can trust them with my money."
"I have had no problems with APGFCU. I have an auto loan, a savings acct. and a CD. I do find it inconvenient to open a CD. You must make an appt. to open the account. The actual time to do this transaction is approx. 10 minutes. I have to drive 45 minutes for 10 minutes of work. The CD requires "new money"-money not already in the credit union. They accept a personal check for my auto loan, why couldn't I send a check to open a CD. Other than that, so far, no problems. By the way, when the new system was set up, if you followed the instructions carefully, it was quite simple. With the technology we are fortunate to have, I do think they could have found a way to transfer information instead of having all members start over with their information. I'm sure they had a good reason! An explanation would have been appreciated."
