"This place serves no purpose. No tellers, just monitors to conduct your business."
"MECU Loch Ridge deserves no stars. Since I am unable to post without giving at least 1 star, the one star goes to the warm-hearted gentleman who greets and directs us upon entering. In September on an early Saturday evening, the ATM shut down during my transaction with my card stuck inside the machine! The machine rebooted itself for a few seconds before the "shutting down" message appeared again. There were no lights, no sound, no power, zilch. I sat in my car bewildered because I needed cash and had no access to it. About 2 hours later, I returned to the Loch Ridge ATM and the engineer was servicing the machine. I told him that the machine shut down during use and did not return my debit card. I kindly asked for it back and was fully prepared to show my driver's license to verify my identity. The gentleman explained that any cards are property of MECU and he can not return it to me. I asked was there a drop box for him to surrender the card. He was unaware of a drop box. He stated there is no way for him to return the card to the branch. Those are the rules and I abided. The engineer is not employed by MECU; he works for the company who services the ATMs. They get an alert when an ATM malfunctions. On Monday morning, I took off 2 hours of work to visit the Lochridge branch to inquire of my debit card. I communicated with the courteous gentleman who greets us as we enter the branch. I inquired, "Is there a drop box?" "No". "Did anyone return my debit card to the branch?" "No". There were a few people ahead of me and I sat down. As it was getting later, I withdrew money using the ATM Teller inside the branch without speaking to anyone because I had to return to work. To be clear, I was not in the branch for 2 hours. The pleasant MECU representative gave a sheet of numbers and circled the one I should call. Eventually, I called the number that I was given by the gentleman. It takes forever for someone to pick up the phone. He had a thick dialect and was hard to understand him. He asked for my social security number. I was not divulging that information. Then, I had to hang up to return to work. A few weeks passed, I returned to the branch and spoke to the same amiable gentleman. Again, I asked was the card turned in. "No". Thankfully, I was able to be seen someone. I inquired to the young lady, "What happened to my card?" She stated that cards are destroyed. Okay. I was surprised that MECU never notified me of the situation. No phone call, text, nor email to me the cardholder regarding "their property". The representative inside Loch Ridge branch could not personally assist me. Instead, the young lady gave a number to report it lost/stolen. I called the number and left her office. Then I hung up to withdrew cash, left the branch, and called again and waited on the line. I called the number and the person was very nice, however, there was a thick accent and it was necessary to iterate relevant details. Finally, the individual input the documentation to block debit card transactions. I got a rude awakening when she told me that I needed to call ANOTHER NUMBER to order a replacement card! On another day, I called a number and the person had NO RECORD of my lost/stolen card! I had to do the process AGAIN! Then, at the end of that conversation, he told me to call Member Services to request a new debit card. I do not know how many times I've called MECU. I can not wait all day, on the phone; I have things to do. Everything that I need should be accessible speaking with the MECU representatives at their branches. Logically, if one reports a card lost/stolen then the next process is to request a replacement card. There is no need to contact a different department about this request. The processes at MECU need to be streamlined. I visit the MECU Loch Ridge Branch to get assistance from a representative instead I get phone numbers. The wait-time on the phone is ridiculous. Thumbs WAY DOWN!!"
"This is hands down the worst credit union I’ve ever experienced. Employees have little to no patience and don’t seem competent. App is basic and overall they aren’t a welcoming or accommodating credit union. Will never get my service again"
"When it was staffed by people I never had better, more friendly service. Now the staff has been replaced by a bank of robots with one real person in the lobby. You can talk to a real person through one of the robotsbut that just isn't customer service of the previous level. Not going to"
"The worst experience ever I went to withdrawal funds out of my account and the young lady told me my account was locked an she was unable to give me funds. Now any other time I go to the drive thru they would tell me the same thing then tell me to hold on they need to verify the information on my account. Not this time I had to tell the lady you need to call to verify she then said to me send me your withdrawal slip back but if the collection department is not open then I cannot give you no money out of your account. I personally think the young lady didn’t do neither because it was 10 mins before closing time. I then asked her for a balance on my car loan an she never gave me that. I can’t wait until my car is paid off so I can close this account with Mecu it can’t come fast enough."
