"This used to be a small credit union where your local branch manager knew you and could help. Now they have turned into just another big corporate bank. They literally don't care about their members. My wife tried to zelle me $1500 for our mortgage. Zelle had an error and fffcu response is well they payment didn't go through so we are going to hold the money for 10 business days. Literally couldn't care less about their members. Go somewhere else. Their loan rates aren't even competitive anymore."
"Unfortunately, I wish I could give them no stars. First Financial Federal Credit Union is a racist system. I have dealt with many employees in the branches and over the phone, and they do not treat everyone the same. First, when my son was a bcps student and I was opening an account for him I sent a copy of his school ID and they said they needed an updated one. They deal with bcps so they KNOW students don't receive new IDs every year. Second, I applied for a car loan and was given the runaround in the branches and online. After running around for hours from the dealership to the branch location, they qualified me. Third, I applied for their visa Credit card and was approved for a low interest rate. Then I noticed the interest rate began to fluctuate. When I inquired about it they say oh we can change it without notice. Fourth and the final straw was with paying off the balance on my visa credit card. I clicked on payoff and selected the current date. Once I was given the amount I paid it in full towards the principal. I had a credit. A week later there was a balance. I inquired about it and was told a loan rep will contact me. Almost a week later a loan rep called and said she reversed my payment and now I have a balance. I have been trying to get my payment reversed and no one can seem to help resolve this issue. This whole experience has been disheartening and disrespectful and I can no longer bank with them. I have family members and friends who also have had the same issues with First Financial. There needs to be some equality trainings given to staff members."
"Very disappointed in how they handled my son's checking account. They charge $15 a quarter b/c they feel he didn't make enough transactions. He is in school and does not have a FT job. I was there when he opened the account and we were never told there would be a fee if we didn't do a certain amount of transactions. Shame on you First Financial Federal Credit Union for taking advantage of a young adult in school. This is my response to the owner's response: We received no correspondence regarding the fee for an account being what you consider "inactive". No mail and no email. I also spoke to the manager of your Timonium branch who was of no assistance. And what exactly does a bank have to do that warrants a quarterly fee for "inactivity"? I imagine not much."
"This has been my credit union for approximately 20+ years and I have always been treated like a valuable customer. Each and every representative I had met with for various reasons has made my membership worth while. When I call to speak with member services or stop in to speak in person my questions or concerns are always appreciated and approached with great concern and urgency. The customer service is outstanding; I could not do business with any other company."
"I have been banking here for a long time. This bank has drastically gone down hill. They do not care about you or protecting you. I have had my debt card number stolen and used way to many times for a card that sits in my desk drawer. The fraud department is a joke they do not care and make mistakes saying its an oversight. I can tell you if their money was taken they wouldn't think its an over sight. My account was drained for a month and a half before they sent emails. and just found out it was hit months before and I lost all that money now because its too late so if you want issues and to lose money bank here. Some one will hack your account number and spend your money and best of luck getting it back. Even the bank manager could not get a ahold of the fraud department. Do yourself a favor and bank with a reputable credit union."
