"I contacted this company for leak detection and to fix the issue when found. They confirmed the leak and fixed my return line, but i did have some concerns and wrote a letter to them Craig responded to each concern in kind and down played them and made up a story about my biggest one, Tom cut my main drain line when he thought it was the return line, picture attached.He looked perplexed, I went outside and informed Tom he cut my main drain line as I had that one replaced within the last 4 years. He wasn't convinced and said if it was the weight of the water would cause the water to flow out of the line, apparently he thinks water will flow uphill without suction. So I suggested he put water in the line and see if it come out the return in the pool; He did and of course the water did not flow out the return. so he started to dig a bit deeper until he found the line that needed replacing. Craig called it an obstruction and the work do cut he pipe was not in the price! the pipe was not an obstruction as you can see from the picture, if anything the intake line that was laying directly on the return was in the way, however Tom manged to work around that without cutting it. There was some other sloppy work so I wanted to ensure they fixed the cut pipe correctly. Craig said to pressure test it, I would have to drain the pool completely and pay for the test to check their error! I declined that Craig said that when the cut line is fixed, the plastic melts together and will not leak. I'll see next year when I run the filter and if air doesn't get in my pump, then I'll know for sure. a smaller issue was the cement that I wanted was over estimated. I checked this after the job was done. (of course Craig denied it) . I didn't think a small refund would be a problem. On the contract they estimated a 3x3 foot pad at the skimmer and a 27 foot single paver void) The single paver void is 11.5.feet. He confused the length of the return line with the void. Now the amount of cement and labor couldn't be that much of a difference in price, but the denial. is another indication of this businesses unethical practices. In addition, there was no mention of a possible charge when excavating to the return due to obstructions either in the contract or in the many conversations we had. That was done by design so they can shake you down for additional money. The amount they want to start is in addition to the down payment which wasn't clear to me. that makes it hard to walk away form without losing lots of money. by going with someone else. I paid $7300 for the work. Craig is very difficult to speak with on the phone as he consistently talks over you. other numerous small issues too, I cannot recommend this company and will never use them again."

"Had a horrible experience with this company. DO NOT USE! I am not one to write bad reviews but I decided I should so no one else gets ripped off from this company. Recently, I moved and my hot tub started leaking. Called A1 Pools and Spas and was told a diagnostic call to see what was wrong was 390+tax. OKAY I thought, that is a lot but I just wanted to get it up and running... Well after not even 20 minutes of them being there I was told there was a crack in something and they would get back to me with a price. After over a week I finally got a call (after I called multiple times) with how much it would be between parts and labor, and they told me $890 plus tax! I called another local company and the other company fixed my hot tub for a fraction of that price ($165 TOTAL!) A1 Pools and Spas is a scam with what they tell people. Supposedly, what they said had to be replaced wasn't even the problem. It was just a bent coupling ( a $6 part..) Well my hot tub is up and running now, no thanks to A1 Pools and Spas. Would not recommend."

"HORRIBLE ... NEVER USE THIS COMPANY... TOTAL RIPOFF....CRAIG DOES NOT LET THE CUSTOMER TALK, TALKS OVER THE CUSTOMER.... SENDS OUT 2 GUYS THAT STAND THERE AND SAY YES YOU HAVE A LEAK..... DOES NO TESTING BECAUSE ITS OBVIOUS AND THEN STATES WILL HAVE CRAIG CALL BACK WITH A PRICE... GIVE THEM A NON REFUNDABLE CHECK FOR 550.00 WHICH IS TO GO TOWARDS THE REPAIR... RECEIVE CALL BACK FROM CRAIG EXPLAINING HOW THEY TESTED THE POOL WHICH THEY NEVER DID AND THEN STATES TO COMPLETE THE 1ST PHASE IT WILL BE A REMAINING BALANCE OF $3250.00.... FOR WHAT!!!!!!!!! TO DIG WITH A SHOVEL TO EXPOSE A AREA THAT WE KNEW WAS ALREADY LEAKING???? HE CALLED IT EXCAVATING...... I CALLED IT USING A SHOVEL.... I THEN SAID ITS VERY UNFORTUNATE THAT HE TREATS CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS..... AND HE SLAMMED DOWN THE PHONE.... TERRIBLE.... DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT CALLING THIS PLACE... AND YES HE GOT MY $550.00 .. BUT I HOPING HE NEVER TREATS A PERSON LIKE THIS AGAIN...... BUT HE WILL.... CAUSE ITS HIS NATURE....."
