"Everything and more. Our food was great. The ricotta was super creamy in the eggplant rollatini. My risotto with shrimp was so delicious. The shrimp were cleaned and cooked perfectly. Service was spot on. Will be back for more."

"I'll give you my very honest review. My appetizer, the whipped ricotta and my entree pictured below, the rib eye were both outstanding! My steak was done perfectly(rare) and was delicious. I also had the lavender martini which was very tasty. The other three people at my table weren't as lucky. They all got the porterhouse and ordered it rare to medium and all got medium well or well done. Our server didn't seem skilled on handling a problem yet but Paul came to our rescue and went completely over the top to make sure we were happy by removing all 4 steaks from the bill. Mine was perfect so I felt bad that he removed mine from the bill as well. We will definitely go back for several reasons. They haven't even been open two weeks, there's bound to be growing pains, they are less than 2 miles from our house and we want them to so succeed. I look forward to my second try!!"

"Decided to try a local spot nearby to where a friend of mine lives. It did not disappoint. We were so lucky to grab a table outside while the weather was quite enjoyable. Our server, Philippe was wonderful and took excellent care of us. We started off with a few refreshing drinks - Margarita Mocktail, and Sucken Silo Peer Pressure. We then decided to try a few starters which were each delicious in their own way...the whipped Ricotta was my personal favorite. Whipped Ricotta: whipped homemade Ricotta topped with Truffle oil, hot honey, red chili peppers paired w/ Toasted bread Octopus: Grilled Spanish octopus over arugula w/ Lemon caper vinaigrette. Smashed Olive Tapenade: finely Chopped olives, capers, anchovies and olive oil Our main course selections were so good as well...I had the goat cheese/Mushroom Gnocchi, which was amazing. Chicken Apple Brie Sammy: grilled chicken, crisp green apples. Melted Brie Cheese, homemade seasonal jam, arugula, side of crispy sweet potatoe fries Goat Cheese & Mushroom Gnocchi: homemade Ricotta gnocchi in a portobello Mushroom cream sauce, Roasted red peppers, topped w/ goat cheese We finished our meal with a little something sweet....peanut butter and chocolate...always a solid combination. Peanut Butter Chocolate Explosion Cake I'd definitely come back to try the other offerings and highly recommend The Smashed Olive!"

"This is my new favorite place. Stopped in for a quick bite for lunch and had a super professional Burger. It was super juicy and had bacon on it. The garlic Parmesan fries that came with it were so awesome. They were crispy and flavorful. I would like to go back for dinner and try some entrees and other items as they all looked and sounded amazing. It’s super cozy inside and well kept."

"We had a very pleasant time visiting The Smashed Olive in Washington, NJ. The location is very nicely designed with a friendly staff. The complimentary bread with chopped (possibly smashed) olives was nicely done. We ordered the Shrimp Risotto and the Hanger Steak and both were good. We are very happy to have visited this location and will definitely return."
