"I have been a patient with Chestnut Hills Dental in Homer City for 15-20 years. Wonderful office. Love my Dr. Dean and staff there. I was referred to Dr. Vitalie in Indiana six months ago. He was to do an implant. I had a bone graft and waited six months which January would be when the implant would be placed. I paid for bone graft, a temporary that he had specially made for my mouth to protect my dental implant when it happened. I asked numerous times for an estimate of what he was going to do for implant but did not receive as he had a few things in mind that he was thinking of doing whether it be one implant, mini implants or two regular implants. He finally had me go for a CT scan because I kept insisting that he give me an estimate so I could use flex spending next year. I then paid for the CT scan and took it to his office. My next visit he tells me sorry, I can't do this and referred me to another dentist. I of course was upset that I paid all of this money, took days off of work, unnecessary procedures and now have to start over again. He made the comment "oh, now you are trying to make me feel bad". I had an unnecessary bone graft, retainer paid for, CT scan and dr visits and six months later, he can't do it? He should have done the CT scan from the beginning which would have told him the plan in advance to save all of the unnecessary procedures and charges. They also violated HIPAA by billing another patient for the services that I received. I brought it to their attention when they handed me an invoice with all of her information on it. Next visit, they still had my visit information etc. under this other patient and I told them to please correct again. After the visit where he said that he could not perform services, I asked to speak to a manager. I think her name is Robin but I have not heard back from her."
"I did not realize Dr. Vitalie specializes in bite therapy but it was a pleasant surprise. He gave me so much info about my health that I had been wondering for years and never sought to answer. Really nice to have a doctor that looks at total wellness and how everything is connected. Very pleasant experience."
