"Let me say that the dental work and care is great, however the billing department is horrible. I was told before multiple appointments that my insurance would cover most (if not all) of the appointments and work. I had a bunch of work done and every time I left I would check to see if I owed anything, every time they said no you are good to go. Come to find a few months later after leaving one of my appointments the lady tells me "you owe 2,000 on your account". For whatever reason they decided that months later that my insurance did not cover whatever. And before my insurance is claimed to be bad, I had a full root canal at a different office and it was fully insured. Had I known that nothing would be covered at Merlinos I would have found a different dentist that has a competent billing department. They also did the same thing to my wife, with telling her that insurance will cover a cavity. At the end of her appointment she was hit with a 137$ bill (which is about the cost of a cavity with no insurance). The sad thing is they claim to be Christian however I am seeing multiple reviews of the same issues."

"This was thee absolute worst dental experience that I’ve ever had. I had a badly infected broken tooth. I was sat in a chair without a sink with running water to spit or rinse my mouth as my tooth was barbarically ripped out of the socket. The procedure didn’t include separating the gum from my tooth as shown by many dental videos online showing these types of tooth extractions. She clamp a tool onto my tooth, tugged, twisted, then left me to work on another patient. My mouth was angrily aggravated! The pattern repeated a second time. After coming back a 3rd time, she broke the tooth to remove in two pieces. The tooth was pulled, but the infection inside my socket wasn’t cleaned. Instead she pinched the socket with gauze and said to let it drain. I knew it needed cleaned out throughly, but mind you, no running water to rinse. No suction to remove fluid from my mouth. I had to ask for a cup of water to rinse. Needless to say, the socket stayed infected and the pain is unbearable! Also disturbing was the conversation I overheard that she was having with another woman patient (Caucasian) about a little league event of some type being held in Jeanette. Basically insinuating this was some type of area that “ you know what to expect playing THOSE kids” I am African American and it truly felt like “less than treatment.” At the time I had no insurance, but paid cash. There appeared to be no compassion. Even though I paid cash, I shouldn’t have been treated so poorly. I wish I would’ve never stepped foot in her office."

"Everyone here is very nice and helpful. I was very nervous about having my first cavity filled, but Dr. Merlino was very patient and helpful. She worked me in for an additional appointment so that way I could get it done before it got too bad. Since it was only a small cavity, I was able to get it filled without needing Novocain (I am afraid of needles) and getting the cavity filled thankfully did not hurt. She was very gentle, patient, and understanding of my fears. The filling was also done very well. I was able to chew and eat normally that same day. Thank you so much Dr. Merlino."

"Dr Merlino is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. I have had a lot of dental work done over the years. I have always had a fear of going to the dentist because of both the pain that I have experienced over the years and the cost. Dr Merlino is the most gentle dentist I have ever had and has worked with me to fix my teeth in the most affordable way.
