"The security person, to whom we kindly asked a question about appointments, just kicked us out of the office, with a very bad/getto attitude, saying that being a senior, having a baby and/or being pregnant is not a disability, that everyone had to make a line outside, in the freezing cold weather. Even if that were a policy, this woman was very disrespectful when communicating it. She said she'd answer our question once we were outside the office, then she shut the door on our face and continue the mistreatment, yelling at us and saying she doesn't care about filing complaints against her. People like this should be educated about how to treat taxpayers who make possible for them to have a job. On top, this SS office was very crowded, inside and outside, with a very slow service!!!"
"I see 21 reviews already about the security guards so I will add mine, but will also be looking for a way to get the issue addressed. I had made an appointment and fortunately arrived early as the room was completely full and there was no working rest room. The person handling my question was very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately I do have to go back and drop off a form and will encounter the “security guard” again I don’t think security is her function, I think her role is to manage the line and people coming in. I was in line when I first encountered her. She was making sure the line was straight. She never mentioned the QR code on the window which I had seen but I’m sure others hadn’t. This code allowed you to register and was important. A woman nicely asked if the glorified line keeper knew how long the wait might be and she replied in the nastiest tone possible “how should I know” and shut the door in the woman’s face. I was shocked and am sure my mouth dropped. I was called quickly for my appointment and told what I needed to do. When outside I looked for the dropbox where I had been instructed to leave paperwork when I returned. There were a number of instructions on the dropbox stating what should be on the envelope and I took a picture of the sign so I could get it right. Only the sign was in my picture. The line guard bellowed and I walked over and asked if I could help her. She stated loudly that no pictures could be taken inside the office. I explained I was taking a picture of the instructions only and she bellowed again that no pictures could be taken. She never asked to see what I had taken a picture of, simply told me I had to delete it. I deleted a picture, asked if she was happy and left The response of this line guard to the customer politely asking about wait times sticks with me. Her customer’s face crumpled in the wake of this rudeness. I was there at 12:30 on 12/26 and the line keeper was a woman. She needs customer service training or should be invited to find other employment. I would rate her lower than a 1 if possible, she was appalling."
"Someone really needs to investigate this office and what they're doing! They kept us and our newborn baby over 3 and a half hours!!! They skipped our number and told us to wait until everyone left. We were the last ones in the office!!! Staff would just tell us to wait more even though we told them we were skipped and people without tickets were being served ahead of us. A fight was about to start in front of us! HORRIBLE office and staff! Not organized whatsoever."
"I had a peaceful experience by making an appointment in advance online. The office was super crowded and full of people but I got to bypass the line and wait time by making an appointment in advance. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I will agree the security is not the nicest but everyone once inside was pleasant, friendly, and ready to assist."
"Made an appointment for Nov. 24th (day after thanksgiving) and when we got to the office it was closed. Several people made appointments online, took off work, came by public transportation, brought their children just to be met with a locked door. How can we trust an administration with our documents if we can’t even trust their operating hours? Be for real. Do better."
