"Great family spot. There is a playground, a couple of short easy trails, and a unique pedestrian bridge that crosses the Delaware River."
"05/05/2022: Now with everything almost back to normal, this area is set up with washing station for picnic and more portable toilets for visitors. It is perfect for family outdoor picnics and hikes. Update 05/28/2021: After my first visit at Bull’s Island, I came back several times with family and/or friends for hikes and once picnic. Really loved this park with the footbridge. And one day afternoon after my PA/NJ Delaware River Loop hike, I noticed the picnic area was in shade, which would be perfect for picnicking in summer. Strongly recommend for family and friends to hang out here any time. Or, if you want to sit by the river to indulge yourselves in some good food and nice view, the Black Bass Hotel is a very nice restaurant right by the river across the footbridge in PA side. But make sure you reserve your table in advance as when we stopped by and wanted to dine there, turned out to be full. 01/30/2021 It’s the parking spot I chose for the #7 section of my Hiking-thru-D&R-Canal-Trail from Bull’s Island to/from Bridge Street, Stockton. After I finished my hiking in such a sunny day, I told myself why not take a walk in the park and see what’s over there. So I crossed the canal bridge, saw an park office building with a bigger parking lot. There’s a playground behind the building and many picnic tables by the river. There’s a boat launch by the canal with picnic area too. I am sure it is a very nice recreation area in summer. To my surprise, there’s a pretty pedestrian bridge right across the river to Lumberville, PA. So I took a walk thru the bridge high across Delaware River. The river views are definitely gorgeous! Don’t miss a walk on the bridge if you plan for a trip to Bull’s Island area."
"Bull's Island recreational area is a great getaway spot without having to go too far from home. There is also a local restaurant within walking distance and endless trails for you and your family to explore."
"Today's adventure? Ravens Rock, NJ to Lumberville, PA to visit the pedestrian bridge. The ride north on the New Jersey side is beautiful...mountains, old stone homes, tucked away just behind the trees...the Delaware River, small hamlets, "river" houses...living history! Look for the signs for the Pedestrian Bridge or Bulls Island Recreation Area. Lots of parking. Clean, indoor restrooms, bike repair station for those avid cyclists, and a slow, leisurely walk across the Delaware River. An incredibly beautiful walk. When you get across to the Pennsylvania side, you find yourself at the Black Bass Hotel...built in 1745...and the Lumberville General Store. History abounds! Parking does not. Easier to park on the New Jersey side. But do enjoy the restaurant at the Black Bass Hotel."
