Natural Lands' Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary 240 Sunnyside Road, Easton, PA 18042
About the Business
Natural Lands' Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful park and tourist attraction located at 240 Sunnyside Road in Easton, Pennsylvania, United States. Perched on the steep slopes of Bougher Hill overlooking the scenic Delaware River, Mariton offers stunning views and a variety of trails to explore. One of the highlights of the preserve is the River Lookout Trail, which provides a seasonal overlook of both the Delaware Canal and the Delaware River 300 feet below.
The Nature Center at Mariton includes a library, meeting space, and ADA restrooms, and is open by prior arrangement. The sanctuary was established in 1969 by Mary and Tony Guerrero, who wanted to protect the land and wildlife from development and create an environmental education center for the community. In 1992, the Trust entered into a long-term agreement with Natural Lands to manage the property, continuing the Guerrero family's legacy.
Visitors can help support the conservation efforts of Natural Lands by learning about combating light pollution and protecting the nighttime ecosystem. The sanctuary offers opportunities for rocky climbs in the forested landscape and the chance to observe butterflies and other pollinators in the meadows at Gwynedd during warm weather.
Natural Lands is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving open space, caring for nature, and connecting people to the outdoors. Visitors can support their work by visiting the sanctuary and learning more about their conservation efforts.

"Wonderful place with a variety of trails. Depending on the trail, the hike can be easy to challenging. The terrain is very diverse, the foliage is varied and interesting. Informational signs add another dimesion and educate the visitors about the complexities of the forest and its preservation. I went at 745 on a Sunday morning and was the only one there. It was amazingly calm and peaceful."
"This is such a beautiful place! Pet friendly (leash required). If you’re looking for a place not far from civilization but far enough away to feel at peace this is the place! If you love the sound of birds singing/chirping this is also the place for you! We just moved to the Milford NJ area and we will definitely be back"
"Always a treat to go here. Nice trail system, and many options of trails to go on. There’s two cliff overlooks that are very nice to go to. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice hike."
"What a beautiful trail system with such natural variety and some elevation as well. A really beautiful area to come hike. Also I really like the information posts around the park, I learned quite a bit from them!"
"Peaceful, clean and extremely well-maintained nature preserve overlooking the Delaware River and scenic Upper Bucks County and lower Northampton County; definitely, worth the trip...bring your camera. The only thing we didn't like on this visit versus our last visit, was the bathrooms were locked/closed and it was a Saturday. The nearest public bathrooms, outside of the preserve, are about 2 miles away in the town of Reigelsville (spelling?). Free walking sticks were left near the main entrance to the restored bank barn park office which was also locked/closed. This preserve is pretty remote, so the bathrooms should be open."
