"First time visit, excellent experience! Staff was exactly what you would want - efficient and friendly. Technician and hygienist took care of x-rays and cleaning - very thorough and gentle. The visit was topped off by Dr. Monahan, who will now be "my Dentist." She was attentive, really listened and answered all of my questions. Could not give a higher rating for my first visit."
"Prior to my last visit back in August, my other visits had been pleasant, despite costing me an arm and a leg (I’m uninsured and hadn’t been into the dentist in quite some time, so this was to be expected). However, my last visit was just a simple cleaning that I paid out of pocket for upon arrival. After receiving the cleaning, one of the dentists dropped in the room and we spoke for less than 5 mins, including her showing me a photo of the original pictures taken when I first came in after me commenting that my teeth looked so much better. Everything seemed great, and I left as usual afterwards. Almost three entire months later, I receive an email with an online statement saying I owe them $30. I was confused, as I had paid in full the day of my appointment back in Aug., so I called to check with their front desk people about what was going on. It was then I was informed that the $30 was owed for the 5 minute visit that the dentist had made at the end of my appointment. Considering I was never made aware that this was an extra charge during or even immediately after her visit, as I walked out of their office and they didn’t ask me to pay the remainder of what they had just added to said visit, I was a little put-off by the lack of clear communication and the fact that I was receiving a bill now 3 months following the appointment. I expressed this to the woman I spoke to on the phone about the bill, and she told me she would “talk to Dr. Monahan about it and let me know”. Another month passes and I hear nothing. Finally I see that I’ve received yet another email informing of my unpaid balance, and this time I go ahead and pay it because I realize it’s only $30. In the future, however, I will be taking my business somewhere else as I find the way this was dealt with from start to end to be wholly unprofessional. Clients need to be clearly informed at the time of their visit if there are additional charges being tacked onto what they believe is already a settled bill, and your billing department should not be charging people months down the line for small fees if it’s so important to you all to send multiple emails and not do any follow up by way of communication when inquiries have been made."
"The best dental team around! I used to be scared of the dentist, but now I actually look forward to going! Everyone is so helpful and friendly, they make a typically unpleasant event more enjoyable. I cannot thank this team enough. They have invested so much time and effort into my teeth, you can tell they really care. I cannot recommend them enough!"
"I have anxiety going to the dentist. I’ve been to several other dentists in the past that I didn’t trust. But Bloomfield Dental is different and Dr. Mele is awesome!! I fully trust her with my dental health. She spends time to talk to me, rather than just dictating what needs to be done."
"This used to be the best dentist I had ever gone to- they were good with my dental anxiety and could get me in last minute for emergencies- until i had updated my insurance with them over 4 months ago. They have always been an office thats slightly difficult to get in touch with but that hadnt been much of an issue until now. I had given them my insurance information back in april and didnt hear back from them until a week ago when they asked me to update my insurance before my apppointment. I thought this was odd as I had updated my insurance back in april but I tried to get in touch with them over the course of the week- I had called 7 times all at different times of day and left 3 different messages with my name and contact information. They texted me today saying my appointment would be $175 if i didn't update my insurance so I sent them an email with the same insurance card I had sent in april and again, heard nothing from them except the standard appoitment confirmation text after they had received my email. Now, right after I park and am about 5 minutes late I get a call from them where I said "I just parked I'm about to open the door" and they said "okay" no mention of any insurance issue until I had walked in. THAT is when they told me- after knowing for 5 months and not informing me whatsoever- that my insurance wasn't accepted and that my appointment would be $175 regardless. I had told the woman checking me in that this was ridiculous, I shouldve been informed of this months ago, and if not I shouldve received THAT as a phone call, not them continuing to ask me to update my already updated insurance info they KNEW they didnt take. They even tried to lie and tell me "thats why we were tryong to get in touch with you" when the message they left was about UPDATING insurance and didnt at all message they didnt take the insurance I had submitted and again I received no communication about this, not emails, not phone calls, not texts so I'm unsure why the staff felt the need to lie. Thats when a blonde woman who wasnt even involved with the discussion said they could give me a claim to submit to my insurance and when I told them they wouldnt accept it because theyve regularly denied me medication I need and that it was insane that nobody would tell me until I had walked in because as a dentists office they know how hard it is to get in with another office the woman started yelling at me "DO YOU WANT TO BE SEEN OR NOT?! DO YOU WANT TO BE SEEN OR NOT?! DO YOU WANT TO BE SEEN OR NOT?!" without letting me get a word in edgewise. I was being a bit short about the fact I shouldve received a call or email about this in april, or may, or june, or july, or even last week when they attempted to contact me but thats no reason for office staff to start yelling so I walked out. I also CHOSE this dental plan because Pennie told me this office WAS covered so theyre obviously not great about getting in touch with insurance in general here. Dana, I appreciate the care that I've received over the years but this is a disgraceful way for your office to conduct themselves period. From not being in touch for 5 months to that woman inserting herself into the conversation, to her yelling."
