Reviews of Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct
"My maternal great great grandfather helped build this bridge. I’ve listened to family stories about the history of the bridge - someone with the myths of people and animals killed by industrial accidents that occurred during its construction. Over the years.c the bridge began to look neglected and I feared that someday I would make a return trip to see family to find it gone, toe down due to disrepair. Apparently my fears were unfounded, the bridge received from TLC in time for its centennial celebration."
"After seeing a model of this bridge at the Steamtown Train Museum in Scranton, we had to take a drive over to see this engineering marvel in real life. To think this bridge was built over a century ago is just an mind blowing, what a beautiful structure. The architecture & engineering of this bridge is just amazing."
"There is a gas station near to the bridge that offers a great place to take photos. Otherwise you will have to walk or park on the side of the road."
"The best angle for photos is behind the viaduct in the middle of the road. We didn’t stop. You can get some foot photos from the turn off or the small convenience store as well. A bit off the beaten path, we went on our way home from a trip. Worth a pit stop."
"There are several spots to get photos of the bridge, and they all have their advantages. The pull-off area on Route 92 offered the safest vantage point, and had additional information on the bridges history. Going up during the fall colors was a bonus."
