"This place it’s a scam, I got a bill for 146$ (after insurance because they charged almost 1k for a Cleaning appointment!). The soonest I walked in the staff was acting weird so ok I took a seat awaiting for the dentist for a couple minutes and after waiting 5 min and looking how everyone was interacting I went back to the front desk and made sure that everyone knew I was there just for my every 3 months cleaning. 5mo after the service I got a bill stating that; “I owe them for an incision and drainage of abscess” it was just one small bump on my gum’s that they just stung once. I have premium coverage on dental and I never got a problem before. I do not recommend this place for any kind of service!!!!"

"The staff sucks and lack general competance with records and customer service. The one dentist was hostile towards me over the incompetent work he did on my daughter that needed to be redone per another dentist. The bonding cracked and crumbled the 1st month. During the actual visit the dental assistants didn't comprehend what services where to be done and even mixed up my daughter with another patient who was getting an entirely different service that included drilling a tooth. Thankfully I realized it and stopped it."

"Service was okay, but this place did a bait and switch regarding my dental insurance. Was seen initially by Dr. DiCarlo as he was in my dental insurance's network. Without telling me, they rescheduled my followup fillings appointment with Dr. Yu. I get it's my fault for not asking, but they advertise their facility as being in-network with my plan. Solely off this one off interaction, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. Now I'm stuck with a massive bill that won't be covered by my insurance since his service's were out of network."

"Medicaid This office has medicaid! Though other offices have this option, this office properly uses the service. I called 7 different dentists who told me that my plan does not cover a crown at my age or that it can technically cover it through a referral, which would 100% get denied, I was told. 7 different offices told me I was out of luck. This office was different. They gave it a shot, and I got my procedure done cost free. Quality care The head dentist, Dr. Yu has awesome experience in the field. Every procedure he does is with the utmost care and excellence. When he had to inject novocaine/numb thing into my mouth, it was the most painless experience compared to the many other oral doctors that have injected me before (this can not always be replicated he says, there is a randomness factor to it.) Overall, l got injected around 10-15 times in my life. If I had to get injected, I would 10 days out of 10 want Dr. Yu to do the injection. They even had an assistant squeeze my shoulder, which helped too. I never asked for that, but they provided that service, so I am in the least amount of pain. A note about this is that everyone gets his care. There will be delays in your treatment as he will be training others to perform quality procedures on others. He ping pongs back and forth between patients to make sure they get their care done right the first time as well as strengthen his team through training. This is not a con, as the delay is minimal to the care everyone receives. Reception The reception is the only con that I have for this place. They have their schedules booked (every other dentist in the area is booked as well) but do have space on Saturdays for more urgent appointments, i believe (do not quote me on that) I personally had difficulty getting a follow-up appointment. They had a pre procedure appointment and then had to go through insurance to see if they would accept the procedure. They are switching from paper to an electronic system, so they had an internal communication error, which caused them to not contact me after they contacted the insurance company. Once you get a proper appointment date, you are fine. If they have to call you to confirm something for you, that is where issues can arise from what I can tell. Even with the minor issues with the receptionist, this has been the best dentist I have ever been to. It is worth the wait to get into this office, as you know the care you will receive will last a long time. All the staff are friendly, and they truly care about your health there. Definitely try to get Dr. Yu for your important appointments/non cleanings. Also, they did great with myntemporary crowns and permanent crown!"

"Was having a hard time finding a dentist that would take my (not great) dental insurance, and was so glad to have found South Side Dental Pavilion. Kind, friendly folks. Easy to get an appointment (I've gotten in next day). No surprises with billing. Professional, honest, efficient. It's everything you'd look for in a dental office. Would (and will) recommend to anyone looking for a new primary dentist."
