"Set aside your preconceived picture of a field of floating cranberries. This bog has way more to it than a few cranberries. The bog's name is actually taken from the nearby Cranberry Creek that runs through it. (FYI, bogs often look more swamp-like with short, scraggling looking trees due to anerobic and acidic conditions caused by the sponge-like spagnum moss that undergirds everything.) We took a 2 hr educational tour that is offered periodically. One should call and find when and make a reservation ahead of time. The $6 cost per person is very reasonable. Our guide, Barrett, was excellent in his ability to tell us everything we didn't know we wanted to know about the bog. It was surprising how enjoyable it was. There's no way a person could leave without a greater appreciation of the unique biome of bogs."
"We visited the Preserve with the Pocono Heritage Land Trust. Our guide, Don Miller, was terrific! His involvement with the 1,000 acre preserve over the last 50 years was on display as he pointed out the details of the bog and its upland components. His curiosity and sense of fun was contagious!"
"Good little hike found spotted some neat stuff takes you almost right up to the big briefly and then mainly highland area. I had a toddler with me took us about 45 mins taking our time this is for the public trail not the cranberry bog and tour itself."
"Phenomenal experience today with our guide, Matt. The area is beautiful and primordial. Matt did an amazing job of explaining tall to small, from moss to forest trees over 200 years old to insects to salamanders, all while keeping us safe from the poisonous varieties of plants. The area is beautifully kept and is intensely unique. A joy to experience."
"Wow. Definitely recommend. We went on the Wednesday walk. It was amazing to see this lush unique environment. The guide, Brittany, was very good. We learned so much."
