Reviews of Laurel Mountain State Park
"We make it up here for skiing a good bit. The mountain bike trails are awesome too. I need to get up here in the summer to ride."
"Great skiing on Lower Wildcat; hair raising steep. Intimate and never crowded. Gorgeous views and summer hiking. Blueberry Pond a secluded jewel. New hours of operation for skiing are disappointing. Wall Street profits now rule local ski culture. A recently posted sign at the entrance gate announces park hours begin at 8 am. Daylight happens at 6 am in the summer. Nearby Laurel Summit State Park and Linn Run State Park state hours as sunrise to sunset and all 3 parks are managed out of Linn Run. DCNR management might benefit from more emphasis on hospitality and public relations."
"Absolutely beautiful!!! We love the trails, the air... nature. Now I just need to learn how to ski"
"A wonderful place to experience creation! We parked at Laurel Mountain State Park and walked along the Beam Run Road until it connected with the Laurel Highlands hiking trail. Watch for the yellow blazes. There was a section that took us in a loop. Do not solely rely on the park map, but use a reliable app with GPS. If you are going to hike in the springtime, get your boots! I am glad I had my KEENS. It’s very muddy and rocky. This is not a novice trail. We saw the massive Beam Rocks. Some aficionados were rappelling and trusting the visitors at the top not to touch their ropes! To get from one rock to the other is a jump of a few feet with a deep drop in between. Keep a close eye on children. Overall, a great adventure on a warm spring day! This will be a familiar favorite!"
"Tons to do around the area if you're the outdoors type. Great place to ski, camp, hike, snowshoe, with a few ATV trails and a few places to fish,etc.. Definitely a must see and on the way there are plenty of wonderful places to stop to eat or go antiquing! Beautiful scenic place to visit with lots of trails and attractions. If you pay attention to the signs they even have events that they host for even more fun and adventure outdoors."
