"My bad review isn’t for Dr. Hector, he was very nice and helpful but it is for your staff. Ms. Stewart, while she comes off as friendly, unfortunately is completely incompetent. I originally called Nov 17 and was excited your office was able to see me right away for an emergency visit. Dr. Hector was not able to fix my issue that day and as I waited at the front desk to schedule my next appointment I was told by Ms. Stewart that she would call me instead with my new appointment date. Well, almost 3 weeks went by and I never received a call, so I finally called back in early December to make it myself. My appointment was scheduled for today (January 15) and 2 hours before my appointment I was just called and told that I can’t come in because I needed preauthorization. I said shouldn’t yall have known that beforehand (this is nothing new, any other doctor or dentist have always gotten a preauth in advance) but no, according to her, this was a new policy that was just passed on Jan 1. Untrue, my dental plan has always required preauthorization for certain procedures. You just didn’t do your job and I have waited 2 months in pain due to your laziness or ineptitude. I’m not sure which one, nor do I care. And now you just called again to try to cover yourself by saying you left me a message a week ago saying you need preauthorization. Lies. Ma’am you did not, and if that was the case you should’ve been calling my insurance company, not me. Dr. Hector please find another receptionist, she is horrible and will make you loose patients. I will never be back."
"Worst pediatric dental experience ever! I brought my 2 year old in for his first dental visit. He repeatedly told my son that he was "so emotional," my response was "He's 2 years old!" "Oh, mommy is taking up for you," he says. As an "experienced dentist" he should have had a far better response for seeing a 2 year old at his very first visit to the dentist. We were referred to a dentist by our pediatrician because my son's primary front teeth came in misshaped. Dr. Ricardo tells us my son's teeth are a sure sign of an infection during pregnancy. I respond, "Oh well I didn't have any infections when I was pregnant with him, wouldn't it be something they detected?" "Yes," he says, "but I can't think of the name of it, I'd have to look it up in a book." As he rushes through the exam he continuously fails to inform me of what he is doing to my son's teeth and tells him, A 2 YEAR OLD, he's "so emotional." After he informs us that we must come back for sealants or fillings (I'm not sure of which one, due to the haste of the overall appointment), he tells us the appointment is complete and leaves fluoride all over my son's mouth. He sees me go to the sink to wipe it off and says "Oh yeah, I forgot to wipe it off," then quickly ushers us to the check-out area to make an appointment for the filings. Mind you, he never told me the name of this "mystery infection" that my son's teeth so surely indicated. I ended up having to ask the receptionist what treatments took place during the appointment and what he suggested moving forward. The entire appointment was a messy blur! Dr. Ricardo was unprofessional and behaved as an inexperienced pediatric dentist. While he may be better caring for adults, we will NEVER visit his practice again. Beware!"
"Dr.Hector is the BEST dentist! Even though it's been about a year since I've been to Dr. Hector's office, I had ALOT of work done with him and he knows what hes doing... And he never has hurt when dealing with my teeth and as for needles.... He never makes a mistake... Considering I've gone to a dentist since I was a child, he is the only dentist that has never messed up on numbing me, he never hit it wrong or anything... He literally pulled 7 teeth all at once and the same day I was able to eat, drink, everything, with no pain or swelling... And he is just a very personable dentist... And he makes the whole experience of a "dentist office" go very well!! And I can't forget Dr.Hector's #1, Cynthia!! She is awesome.. She is so sweet and she does anything to make u feel at ease. She is his receptionist but she also is his side kick when it comes to certain procedures and she knows what she is doing. You will see her answer the phones, make appts, calls to remind you of your appt, she does the billing, and she sets up the chairs for the patients and she makes sure the Dr has whatever he needs while with a patient and she does it with a smile!! She does what about 3-4 people would be doing, in any other office you go into, and thats what makes her so great, eventhough she does all of these things for everyone, she still will remember your name, which makes you feel like she really does care bout each patient! The two of them are the perfect match for a dentist office running smoothly... It was such a good experience and I recommend him to everyone I talk to, who asks if i know of a dentist... Hope this helps anyone who wants to know of a good dentist, cuz it's def Dr Hector and Cynthia!!"
"Good dentist."
