"I have been to this pharmacy previously and believed it was quite good, but my experience today changed my opinion completely. I brought in a written script for my mother (she had just had major spine surgery), and it was a controlled substance. Initially a staff member took the script, and said they would have it filled in 20-25 minutes. After waiting for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes I was informed that the script could not be filled and that it was “too early” even though her doctor had given us the script to be filled on that day. I have grown up in a medical family and I understand the strict rules and regulations regarding controlled substances. The fact that they could not fill the script didn’t necessarily bother me as I understand that the pharmacists need to be incredibly cautious when filling these types of medications. What bothered me was the fact that I was not informed until an hour and a half later. The pharmacist that I spoke to actually called her character into question. Insinuating that she was a drug abuser. My mother is a nurse practitioner who has dealt with pain patients and would never, ever abuse her pain medications. She is reluctant to even take the recommended dose even though she is in extreme pain following her procedure. All in all, my experience with Hereford pharmacy today was very disappointing. Under other circumstances I’m sure it is a fine establishment. Today, however, I am very upset by their lack of professionalism and their inability to inform me of the fact that the prescription could not be filled."
