"I am a fully grown adult, and was yelled at like a child by Dr. Atapour to keep my mouth open during a filling. It was the first and only time I have ever been yelled at by a dentist or any medical professional. There are waaay too many dentists to put up with that, so I will never be back. Bed-side manner is important! I understand that Dr. Atapour needs patients to keep their mouths open during a procedure, but there are professional ways to communicate that. Additionally, from a patient's perspective it can be physically challenging to keep your mouth open, which is why most dentists offer mouth props. I was in shock being yelled at and at the visible frustration that Dr. Atapour seemed to have.
