Dr. Roanne J. Wiczer, DMD

"Absolutely the most unprofessional service, filthy office, aggressive and incompetent staff, and deceitful medical practitioner I've ever visited Here's my experience. Wiczer pushed a nightguard on me as essential and critical because of excessive wear to my teeth, etc. But she refused to submit the bill to my insurance company, despite the fact that my insurance pays 50% of nightguard costs. Her staff repeatedly changed the purported coding for the nightguard to substantiate Wiczer's claim that her nightguards somehow are "unique" and not covered. They first said it was not covered because my insurance company only covered soft guards (standard billing code 9940) and Wiczer's was a hard nightguard. I called my insurance company and they said that was false; they covered both hard and soft.. When I told Wiczer's staff this, they told me the code was 7789. I called my insurance company back, and they said that code had nothing to do with nightguards of any sort; it referred to Temporomandibular joint disorder treatment! Third time - they changed the code to 9999, which my insurance company said also was irrelevant, as it stands for to "unspecified adjudicative code." Wiczer herself told me that she had called my insurance company, and that they had confirmed that her self-purported special custom-made guards were not covered. I called the insurance company and they said that was not the case. They told me that such a determination only could be made if a claim form were submitted; that no conclusion could be reached over the phone, as Wiczer claimed had been the case. Upshot, I went to a highly rated dentist who told me that my teeth were fine and that I did not need a nightguard. Draw your own conclusions...... I also noticed that Wiczer's listing on the dr. oogle dentist review website was "under review." I give the reasons why dentists are under review verbatim from the site: " DR.Oogle may, without warning, change dentist rating, delete reviews and suspend practice listing of any dentist whose reviews, in our judgment, appear to have been manipulated. # There are currently 765 suspended dentists." This may explain the gushing reviews..... You also may wish to check out the dozens of poor reviews on rate meds"

"I would’ve left a 0 star review if possible. My family went to Dr. Wiczer for a few years and she is by far the worst dentist any of us have ever had in our entire lives. She is the kind of dentist who will upsell you on unnecessary procedures to earn herself profit, and then perform such shoddy work that you need to go back to her to fix it over and over again. Years later, one member of my family is still dealing with the consequences of her terrible work, but with a new dentist who isn’t obsessed with squeezing every dollar out of his patients, at the expense of their health. Don’t be fooled by Dr. Wizcer’s kind bedside manner—we trusted her because she is a medical professional, and we greatly regret the thousands of dollars wasted and hours of pain caused by her dental practice. She took our insurance, but it certainly wasn’t worth it. On top of all that, if you’re lucky and only go to her for routine cleanings (rather than more complicated dental work), I’ve never been to any practitioner of any kind with worse wait times—I always waited an hour or more (past my appointment time) to be seen at her office."

"First of all let me explain how terrible the service was. If you are looking for an honest and good dental work without breaking your bank, stop right now and look somewhere else. I got the service from this place about 2.5 years ago. When I checked in that time, I told them only to do what is covered under my insurance policy unless I authorize it. I get my routine dental care done every 6 -12 months. When I was at their clinic, the amount of thing that they found wrong and procedures recommended to me were ridiculous. Never had I been recommended that many things to start with or found that many things wrong with my teeth by any other dental providers. I even paid them close to $400 out of pocket. Now, 2.5 years later I got this nasty email about pending bill and the money I owe. They ordered regular xrays and on top of that they also ordered panoramic xray. Just a quick google search will let you know that you can use either or. I never authorized the panoramic xrays. They also offered me a mouth guard that cost over $1K for some unknown reason. I straight up declined it. Looking back to the reviews, I understood that I was not alone. Bottom line up front, they are just there to rip you off as much as they can. The office is very narrow and congested. The service is awful. Such practices should be banned. Please save yourself time and headache and get your dental work done somewhere else."

"Didn't know how bad it was until I moved abroad, 3 seperate dentists have been shocked at the poor quality of work, with one joking I must've accidentally gone to a "horse dentist." Beyond messing up the actual work, she tries to upcharge for more expensive "treatments" that will lead to further issues, bringing you right back to her office. Taking a cynical approach, this is either a profit motivated decision (just look at some other reviews on here), or she lacks the knowledge for good quality care - neither is a good option for an alleged medical professional. She also performed work I explicitly did not consent to, as I was leaving the country for 3 months the following week. This resulted in emergency dental work needed abroad, which I had to pay for out of pocket. However this experience with emergency dental abroad also opened my eyes to just how bad my care was at this clinic, so for that I am thankful. Better quality care abroad with no insurance was still 1/5th the price I was paying for this hack job in the US. I used to think I hated the dentist, turns out it was just one office I had such bad experiences with. Absolute scam for very bad work, save yourself the frustration and the money, and go somewhere else."

"Shiva is the absolute best for teeth cleaning! I’ve been going to her over ten years and she’s amazing!! There’s no one better in the dmv than her. I love this office because they still take health insurance. I called over 25 places for my daughter and no one took CareFirst Blue Choice HMO but her. And I am so grateful because she’s always in great care! Witzer has gone above and beyond getting Julia in for emergencies before vacation and once on the weekend! She’s an amazing dentist. My teeth look amazing thanks to her office. She was able to do Invisalign to my crowding teeth and she was able to trouble shoot problems along the way with ease. I highly recommend her!"
