"We drove from Newport News to Mclean, VA; to see this dentist based on a very close friend's recommendation. Because of the traffic, it took an extra 1.5 hours to get there. We arrived 45 minutes late. They were so kind and understanding and saw my wife upon our arrival. She is so impressed by the dentist! She says he took his time, examined her problem tooth and then thoroughly examined, questioned and provided addition guidance. She has been to her regular dentist 3 times after receiving her new crown, and they could not get a proper bite. 45 minutes of care from this office, her problem is corrected! She is so impressed that she wants to use him as her regular dentist. We are in our sixties and spent 20 years in the military-moving often. This is the first dentist that she has honestly praised."

"I have been going to the dentist since I have memory and have had good/bad experiences. Dr. Kim has been amazing. I have been in the office for few procedures and he has been very patient with me and his work has been impecable. I truly recommend him. Also his assistants, majorly Michelle, have great attitude towards the patient, which for me has an equal value added to the service. I have gone to other doctors in the area and the administrative support has not been good at all. "I have always had a lot of dental issues since I was little So I’ve gone through a number of dentists in my life but 3 dentists in the VA area. After spending around $20,000 (I have a billing statement) over the span of 6 years at another dental office, I decided to find a new one. I was recommended to McLean Smart Dental by a college friend, I’ve been here twice. First was to get a second opinion from another dentist I had first visited. I had a cracked crown and that dentist recommended I get a new root canal before replacing the crown. She also said I most likely have a gum infection under an implant of only 2 years and that I’ll need to do a new implant altogether. Basically $$$$ and months and months of dental work. Fortunately I came to Dr. Kim at MSD for a second opinion; he said oh your gum looks fine and the root canal? Why touch it if it looks fine and it doesn’t bother you? I love his logical, common sense thinking! Not like other dentists who look at their patients as an ATM machine. Basically he just replaced the cracked crown and did a fantastic job! I just got biannual cleaning done by Dr. Kim as well and I was in and out within 30 mins! Super happy with them so far! FYI, Dr. Kim is a general dentist and Dr. Lee (his wife) is a periodontist working in the same office. Everyone’s super nice and kind in the office and Stella at the front desk is also very friendly!"

"This is my last visit since last year, so second visit after a year. So my first visit was so so and the technician gave me too much info so I just left as quickly as could, but today's visit was nothing but great. Staffs are mature (not right off of high school) and courteous, gave me good tips on getting my teeth cleaned, and they did an excellent job on removing stains from my teeth, and you visit a dental office for that. What's the point of seeing a dentist when your teeth are just as dirty as before you visit them??"

"Since I moved from Dallas, Dr. Kim has been my dentist and it’s been wonderful. Very careful and considerate. I’ve seen too many dentists who recommend tons of work that wasn’t necessary. Dr. Kim is not one of them. I am a cry baby when it comes to any sorts of pain. But I don’t feel nervous going to Smart Dental even for root canal. The staff are very courteous and attentive. Their COVID-19 procedures are thorough and assuring."
