"I am very torn on this location. My first experience was with a broken tooth/crown and that was 5 star professional work with highly communicative dental staff. Today I had my first routine cleaning at Pikesville Dental and I asked the hygienist to explain what she was doing and how it would feel at each step (this is necessary for my sensory processing needs, and the office had no problem accommodating this in my first visits). The hygienist did not respond to me or do what I asked. I then stopped and tried to further explain and have her read my record in the computer. She refused to alter her approach to a dental cleaning and it was a demoralizing and dehumanizing experience. Upon checking out I requested to not see this person again, but I was told that she is the only hygienist. I will be working with my insurance to figure out an alternative dental care solution, this is not a situation that anyone should ever find themselves in."

"Extremely disappointing experience- Unprofessional and Inconsiderate. Beware students or anyone else who goes here. I visited Pikesville Dental Associates a month ago, and it was dreadful. From the moment I walked through the door until the time I left, I encountered numerous issues that left me dissatisfied. To begin, the waiting time is unbelievably long. I arrived at the clinic on time for my appointment, only to be left waiting for 1 hour later to be called back. I understand delays can happen, but this was excessive and unacceptable. When I was finally summoned to the back, my frustration escalated. I continued to wait another 45 minutes to be seen by the dentist. Meanwhile, the clerk desk is situated in close proximity to the open-door patient rooms, and I could hear all the incoming phone calls; complete with personal information being shared. This blatant lack of privacy and disregard for confidentiality is simply unacceptable and unprofessional. Also, the dentist, who was supposedly attending to me, appeared to be more interested in her phone than in providing the care I needed. It was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to keep a patient waiting while engrossed in personal phone activities. It gave me the impression that my time and concerns were insignificant. Overall, my visit to Pikesville Dental Associates was a complete disappointment. The excessive waiting times, the dentist’s preoccupation with her phone, and the unprofessional layout of the clinic all contributed to a terrible experience. I expected a higher level of professionalism and respect for patient privacy from a dental practice, and sadly, I did not receive it. I would strongly advise anyone seeking dental care to think twice before considering Pikesville Dental Associates. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. The dentist's name was Sumanya Venkat Rao DDS PC."

"They never answer the phone. They don’t follow through with what they say they are going to do. Never sent me my dental plan for what we had discussed to be done, never sent my prescription to the pharmacy. They didn’t answer my calls all the way up until my next appointment. Only time I heard from them was when they were calling to confirm my appointment that I had scheduled with them in person two months prior, that I tried canceling the week before they called. Because I could not get anyone on the phone I had to leave a message requesting they cancel my appointment due to having absolutely no communication from them. If I was unable to get a hold of them for two months, I can’t imagine getting a tooth implant and not being able to get a hold of them if something went wrong."

"I generally don't write public reviews, but taking an exception here! I want to give a shout-out to Dr. Sumanya Rao for her expert skills, thoroughness, and ability to diagnose the issue. She is very compassionate and treats you with warmth. You can feel very confident that you are in safe hands while getting treated. I want to thank her and her extremely polite staff for keeping up with the high standards of their services."

"The best dental experience Ive been to and highly recommended clinic! Dr. Rao is so kind. Techs are the best and very knowledgeable especially Ann who did my dental care routine! I have anxiety when it comes to my dental care but they put me at ease. No pain while doing the cleaning. Schedule is flexible with Ms. Hyma. Great staff and great dentist! - Highly skilled people. Positive and calm environment."
