"My hope is to amend this review in the future and add more stars, but for now the program is 2.5-3 stars. It could be wonderful, and I will say that my son mostly enjoys his time there, but there are a few glaring issues and inconsistencies that make me unsure about continuing our month to month membership. Namely, the coach to student ratio is not acceptable. There are two coaches for 17 four year olds, and one of the coaches is taking photos and rearranging equipment for the majority of the class (more of a “helper” as opposed to a coach who is engaged with the kids). In a nutshell, this ratio leads to complete chaos, and not the fun kind. Kids are running everywhere and there is not enough assistance or oversight from the coaches to go around. Kids stand around while they’re supposed to be doing pull-ups/bar hangs because they can’t reach the bar and there isn’t a coach available to lift them. Kids wait in line for the entire time they are supposed to be doing the obstacle course because there isn’t enough manpower for the coaches to help facilitate the kids through certain areas of area of the obstacle course that they struggle with (such as the ring swing section, which the kids can barely reach or do effectively). The relay race at the end turns into complete chaos and kids are standing around confused as to what team they are on and whether it is their turn. The place is new and I will say they are doing some things right such as knowing the kids names (although this is coach dependent) and they do make a fun spectacle of giving awards at the end which is fun for the kids, but there is absolutely no way around the fact that the space and the manpower to effectively engage and manage 17 kids is lacking. It makes it difficult to justify the $129 monthly cost. That said, it is unique and cool in that there aren’t many places that offer this type of obstacle course/strength and agility training class for young kids. I hope they can do something to address this— maybe cap the class at 10 kids, add more class times, or have a third coach for the larger classes."
"We absolutely love the classes at Kidstrong! Our 2 year old enjoys the class so much, and we all love the coaches. Our son is big and tall for his age, and Kidstrong has helped him with his coordination so much. He looks forward to his classes every week!"
"We have had a wonderful start at KidStrong North Hills! It is the perfect fit for my 6 year old son who is not as much of a fan of organized sports. This program keeps him physically active, engaged, and focused on positivity! He reports, "It's WAY cooler than Tball or soccer," and is learning character development skills as well, which makes my heart happy. All in all, this feels like the activity we have been searching for all along!"
