About the Terrapin Nature Park
Terrapin Nature Park is a 276-acre award-winning nature park located at 191 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, Maryland, United States. The park features a 3.25-mile oyster chaff walking trail that takes visitors through wildflower meadows, wetlands, tidal ponds, woodlands, and sandy shoreline. This trail offers a unique opportunity to observe a variety of waterfowl, wildlife, and plant species. A gazebo along the shoreline provides a stunning view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, while park benches offer a place to rest along the way. The trail also includes observation blinds overlooking the tidal ponds and connects to the County's Cross Island Trail system. Portable toilets are available year-round, with plans to install a Rangers Station and Restroom pods at the trailhead in Spring 2022. Visitors are reminded to respect the park's natural environment by refraining from bringing coolers, grills, open fires, or shade structures outside of designated areas, and to only fish in permitted areas.

Reviews of Terrapin Nature Park
"Found on Google and loved this park! Multiple trails: paved, wooded, crushed shell and sand. Shad and open paths. Great water views and plenty of benches."
"Great little place. Has a long walking trail to make sure you get your steps in. The beaches are clean and beautiful. There is an absolutely wonderful view of the Bay Bridge here. The bathrooms are fantastic. We stop here as our halfway point on our way to family to stretch out legs, take a walk and use the facilities to ready for the rest of our journey. The rangers are friendly and all the people walking their dogs are too. A great clean place to visit. Free parking, just watch the curbs entering and exiting, the transitions can be rough."
"We had such a great time visiting today! Our dog had a BLAST. It's a very short, yet pretty, walk to the beach area. You get to see different environments depending on which path you take. There were a few other dogs there with us but there was plenty of room to keep some distance. There are also several great views of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The restrooms in the parking lot were very clean. I highly recommend coming early since parking is limited and fills up fast!"
"I loved the beach and it has a partition for dogs. The only reason for 4 stars is because of the lack of proper sign boards. We found it difficult to get to the beach as we thought the entrance would be separate for dogs (which wasn't the case). It wasn't as crowded as we thought because of the holiday weekend, so we were pleasantly surprised. My dog had a great time at the beach."
"Just over the bay bridge so not far from the main land. Parking is nice. Restrooms are very modern and clean. Nice trails. Nice bird watch areas. Narrow but enough beach. Grill and benches for picnics are also available"
