"The person who makes appointments for urgent care claims she’s been there for 20 years. She talked down to me and made me feel so embarrassed. She kept cutting me off when I tried to explain my emergency and made it seem like my problems are not their problem and that I can come in if I want one tooth delt with but they won’t remove multiple that are infected unless it’s 2 side by side because it’s too much time. She said go to my dentist (I don’t have one because I can’t afford one, if I did I wouldn’t be trying to go here). This is not what I was told when I was last there. I asked to talk to a supervisor. She told me she wasn’t there and hung up on me. My severe infection has caused heart inflammation. It’s drastically progressed. I’m in severe pain. The speciality & geriatric clinic even told me to reach out to the urgent care line to help me, and then come to them. I thought they help people who can’t afford care at a traditional dentist. This is not the case"
"0 stars if I could. My son had an accident and they said he needed to see a dentist there ASAP, that someone would call me or if they didn’t to call them. It’s taken me 3 months to even get them on the phone and when I did the receptionist was not helpful at all and was telling me he didn’t need to be seen. I’m sorry? Excuse me! This dentist and the hospital are a absolute JOKE!!! Please go somewhere else they do not care about their patients!"
"My son had a broken permanent tooth. The dentist school was able to proceed with a cvek pulpotomy at the last minute, day of call. We are forever grateful to this institution for the good quality care they gave my son. Thank you Jason Lin specifically for your great communication and care for my son."
"Well, I got older and my teeth decayed below the gum line. So no matter how much I brushed and flossed the decay spread and over three or four years I lost the battle to save my teeth. I was forced to spend all my savings & entire 401k to defend myself as a father. I am so grateful and blessed by God with this life changing program. I wait listed for a year and then I received fantastic dental care. I was pared with a dental student and his professor. The program is so cost effective that after reading the numbers I was expecting to get a set of used dentures or worse. Well, it was a great experience being part of the educational development of new dentists and getting a fantastic looking upper and lower denture and FREE PARKING! Seriously, that saves a minimum of $ 6.00 a visit. So, a new set of full ( upper & lower ) dentures all inclusive of everything cost $ 750.00 ! I went to “ Affordable Dentures “ first by mistake. They wanted roughly $2,500 -$ 3,500 for the exact same service. Plus their pricing is intentionally confusing with a pile of small print and pressure sales if you go for a consultation like I did. So, it’s a slow process and appointments are very spread out BUT I got my face back and will be forever great full for the value and services they offered me. I can’t encourage anyone enough to go online and put your name on the list. Also, if you’re in extreme pain for years and have $ 20,000+ sticker shock over 4 or 6 root canals and crowns etc. needed to save any of your teeth SPEND EVERY LAST DIME to save even one tooth! I should have donated blood plasma and sold my car to save my teeth. I was in so much pain with six cracked infected molars and decay underneath my gums that I was like just pull them all, I can’t take the pain. I want to eat and sleep. I had 23 complex extractions in one visit. I needed to be put out for the brutal process. The “ twilight sedation “ had me disoriented and drunk-ish for about 5 days following the surgery. I was never told that you go home with bleeding stitches covering your entire mouth that will bleed for days. You WILL drool so much bloody mess all over your face, pillows, sheets whatever you sleep in. Of course I sleep in a white undershirt. I woke up thinking I was murdered in my sleep! I was covered in my blood and my sheets pillow cases and bed looked like a slaughterhouse. Lesson learned, and lesson shared to the world online. I heard of combat vets missing limbs having “ phantom pain “ where the missing limb should have been. I thought I completely lost my mind. I have toothaches and have zero teeth in my body. Your enamel is the hardest substance in our bodies, when teeth are surgically amputated or fall out your life changes. You instantly look 25 years older. Don’t recognize your voice and struggle to pronounce some words. It’s a journey and UNC Dental School offered me an affordable safe passage to “ make me complete “ again! If you work full time weekdays you might struggle with appointments but bring your boss donuts and make all your appointments or they will drop you from the program. I can’t brag enough about how well I was treated in the clinic. I’m happy for my assigned student as he is about to graduate and drill, fill, and scrape all sorts of people who need a visit with bitewings ( x-rays ) and cleaning every SIX MONTHS! I’m looking forward to my next part of my UNC Dental School restoration of how I look, sound, and eat by adding lower implants to snap in and secure my lower denture using the same one saving me roughly $ 750.00 so in a year or 18 months I will return to this review and post my before and after photos. Forever grateful for the students, faculty and support staff members at the UNC Dental School! Respectfully Submitted, 01/04/2024 Jim Boyle KF4COP Chapel Hill, NC."
"Would give 0 stars if I could!! My primary dentist sent a referral to UNC Adams School of Dentistry on July 29th 2023. After jumping through hoops to figure out the number to call I called on August 2nd or 3rd of 2023 and was told by someone it would be at least 3 weeks before they would call and make me an apointment. I waited a month and then I called back, this time I was told I needed to contact Jessica to set up an appointment. I have called every week since and left messages, but I have yet to receive a call. I called 2 weeks ago and was told by someone else to have my dentist resend the referral so I did and I still have yet to hear anything back from anyone. I called again last Tuesday and was told by someone they sent Jessica a message and she should call me shortly. I still have not heard from her or anyone. This is very unprofessional. I sent them an email as well an no call back still or no email reply."
