Oil Region Alliance

The Oil Region Alliance, located at 217 Elm Street in Oil City, Pennsylvania, is a unique institution that combines the roles of finance and travel agency. Formed through the merger of four non-profits in 2005, the Alliance has a unified mission to promote the region's historic, tourism, community, and economic development interests.

Visitors to the Oil Region Alliance can expect a wealth of information on everything to see and do in the area, including where to stay and what to eat. The institution preserves and brings to life the history of the petroleum industry, which began in the region with the world's first commercial oil well drilled by "Colonel" Edwin Drake in 1859.

The Oil Region Alliance manages the assets of the federally designated Oil Region National Heritage Area, which includes Venango County and eastern Crawford County. With museums, arts, brew pubs, shops, and outdoor recreation opportunities, the Oil Region offers something for everyone in every season.

The Alliance actively works to attract new industry and assist existing companies to expand, with a focus on economic development. Each May, the Alliance hosts a ceremony to honor historic preservation projects in the Oil Region.
