"The State of Alabama monument stands where General Evander Law’s Alabama Brigade began their assault toward Little Round Top on July 2nd 1863. The monument was dedicated by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1933. Alabama sent almost 6,000 men to Gettysburg with the Army of Northern Virginia. Alabama lost 2,249 casualties at Gettysburg."
"Another beautiful unique memorial to those from the Yellowhammer State who perished on the battlefield or later from their wounds. It is one of the last ones on Confederate Avenue before it turns to Little Roundtop. Well-worth a visit if passing by, cheers."
"Dedicated by the Alabama Division United Daughters of Confederacy in 1933. The soldiers fought here in the Gettysburg Battlefield are forever remembered as the “Alabamians”, as inscribed on the monument, by the people they stood and sacrificed for."
