"It's not a giant park, but the trails were challenging and covered a variety of scenes (gravel roads, narrow and rocky climbs, woods, clearings). I came to run the trails, and it was perfect for that. And I saw lots of great-looking picnic spots. When I went the gate to drive into the park was closed (not sure why), but there are a few parking spots outside the gate. The drive up was also a treat, if you enjoy winding roads."
"Beautiful area. Saw pretty wild flowers along trail. Also saw a copperhead laying on the steps of the Spring house yikes. We all walked up the steps before we spotted him. Too close for me..Otherwise nice place to hike on big open trail . Well maintained property. We got to meet the mower guys there doing their work. They were very friendly and talked a few minutes.."
"Like others have said, this is a beautiful, secluded, peaceful place to hike. The only thing I would like add is that I came within inches of stepping on a copperhead sunning itself on the steps of the old stone house. Watch out for them. It’s a long drive to the closest hospital."
"Wonderful nature area. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Very clearly marked paths. Parking was very easy (only a few spots but we parked along the road which seemed fine). Little trail maps were available where you parked which is recommended. White trail takes a nice loop around the edge and is mildly steep in some places. Great views and varied paths. Cool little white bell plants growing next to the old cabin. Well maintained!’"
"The parking lot holds two, maybe three, vehicles. We hiked straight up the "road" to the house. We were going to take the Zapolean Loop but it was a overgrown and we weren't dressed appropriately for that. It worked out for the best because it started raining just when we got to the house and we relaxed there for an hour, enjoying the rain. We definitely want to go back to explore more when the weather is better."
