"This place is more than a ski center it’s a total vibe. Even if you don’t ski you will enjoy the friendly cafe with a unique local character. It’s like a clubhouse filled with fascinating people and local memorabilia. Chip, who runs the place, is a local legend. Everyone was exceptionally friendly. We are perpetual beginners. The woman at the rental counter did a good job of matching us with gear and was patient. We had a really good time."

"Great groomed xcountry skiing tracks for different skill levels, rental gear and instruction available. Good cafe at base, warming shelters on the mountain, spring water from pipes available on trail in several locations."

"This place is top for xc and backcountry touring. It’s real backcountry too, given the fact that it borders on Wildlife Refuge and Dolly Sods Wilderness. Go have the experience like I did and you’ll come back knowing it was a full fun filled one. I can say that because I’ve skied at Hatcher Pass. I’ve skied in and around Fairbanks. This place is pretty far south but I’ve seen some snow coverage that rivals Vermont! The people who run this place are some of the finest people you will ever interact with so bring your family and ski with them in the mountains! Finish up your runs then spend time in the lodge afterwards! Thank you for the White Grass Experience!"

"Had a blast XC skiing at white grass. If you're looking for a family friendly activity this winter, definitely check it out. The staff is so kind and willing to help you out. We were lucky that there was some snow left around Christmas to play on. Oh, and make sure to try the food in the lodge...it's absolutely amazing!!!"

"It's probably the best place I've ever XC skied. This winter has not been good to us, but they really do their best to grab as much snow as possible with snow fence and keep it groomed as well as they can. There is so much terrain here that you couldn't get it all in a day if you tried. It's got the small town welcoming feel and everyone is very helpful and happy. These people want to be here and want you to want to be here."
