"If you're driving along the i90 you'll never know it's here! A beautiful stone built lighthouse on Lake Erie (4th largest lake in the US) that is a real picture postcard photo opportunity. It takes 10mins out of your drive if passing and well worth it! *It was closed when we went there"

"An easy twenty minute drive from another nice lighthouse, Dunkirk lighthouse. Barcelona lighthouse is a stone built lighthouse first to use gas light. Unfortunately at this time, it is not possible to access the top due to closure pending stair replacement. State park workers indicated possibly this time next year the project will be completed. There is a simple gift shop as well as a nice small museum. Don’t forget to buy your lighthouse passport and collect the stamps as you visit the numerous lighthouses in the area. Parking is simple but limited. There are two shaded picnic benches out back."

"Unexpected stop on our way home from Buffalo NY to Fishers IN. It was beautiful and the little museum next to the light house was very cool and educational. We will stop again when we can spend a day exploring. We really didn’t want to leave NY or this little slice of heaven. The sounds, air and the beauty of Lake Erie and the little lighthouse."
