"I made reservations weeks in advance because we were celebrating the holiday by going to nearby Fonthill Castle. I was excited to dine here because of the photos posted, showing a warm and cute atmosphere and delicious-looking food, but we were sat in the back by the toilets and the kitchen, which wasn’t great, but also not the worst. Our server was very nice and so this review is not about them. I ordered fries, but their fries include a choice of two toppings—I just wanted plain fries, but since my kid wanted truffle oil, we asked that it be brought on the side (I don’t like truffles). The fries came out and had been tossed in the truffle oil, and we let the food runner know that the oil was to be on the side. They took them saying “no problem.” The fries came back, and they had simply put them back into the fryer, and the fries were very over cooked (most were brown, and all were over-crisp and hollow) and still tasted of truffles. We also had the smoked cauliflower, which was fine but very greasy. My kid had the deviled eggs, which were fine. We were so disappointed with the appetizers, and the lack of care and concern with the fries (which are $15 on the menu, $9 because I asked for plain), that we were not interested in staying for dinner. My bill for two iced teas; a plate of fries we did not eat; greasy fried cauliflower; and deviled eggs was $46 plus tip. It was honestly a terrible dining experience. We came back to Philly and ate at an excellent restaurant, where we should have gone in the first place. I would avoid this place for a meal."
"Immediate impression was not good- we stood waiting for a table for 5 minutes with 3 employees walking by without saying a thing including the person who eventually sat us. Impression got better because the server checked on us multiple times until we were ready, drinks came out quick along with the appetizers. I got the pork medallions off the "specials" menu and it could have used more flavor, seasoning, or something but the size was pretty good. It would have been 3* but I'll give them the benefit of a doubt and might try again if I'm ever back in the area."
"Great place with fantastic food, drinks, and service. Sit inside, or as we did, the side outside bar, even had fire pits to keep you warm. If you haven't been, get there, you'll love it!"
"Stopped in on a beautiful Fall evening while walking around New Hope. Green House has nice ambience with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated promptly upon arrival. There were a few hiccups during the evening. Our order didn't make it to the kitchen initially so we waited a while for the food. When my streak arrived it was over done. Through it all our server was gracious and worked hard to make it right. We were comped a cocktail and they redid the steak. Everyone has off days. As long as you make it right we are fine, and they did make it right. Green House is worth a stop."
"It's giving.... depression. From the small pile of sad chips gathered on the floor to the fun puddle of liquid creeping out of a mysterious locked door on the second floor and mostly dead plants. I took a covid test to make sure I did not lose my sense of taste. The food was mid at best. Gin and tonics that all you can taste is the flat tonic. Not a single tiny bubble in the glass. Spicy margs that taste like straight-up lime and jalapeno juice. No liquor. The marg had more spice at least than the bland tacos and slimy salad. The manager was too concerned with confiscating Starbucks cups brought in, than the food and drinks being served. This is a place that is only good when you are not sober, and your only care is what you post on Instagram."
