Reviews of SpringHill Suites by Marriott Erie
"Hotel is nice, no issues with the room. Auto deadbolt can be a little tricky to get the door closed. It would have been nice if the entire weekend wasn't filled with screaming children running up and down the halls banging on our doors at 11pm. We were unable to use the pool due to it being at maximum capacity of children and their parents partying. While leaving the hotel each evening, the lobby was filled with large, loud gatherings of the intoxicated parents. Breakfast wasn't bad, again pushing your way through unruly children to get to it. Hotel itself is nice, but this seems to be a party spot for traveling sports teams. Definitely would have stayed somewhere else if we would have known. Not worth $300 for two nights to deal with all of that."
"Noises all day and night as if someone forgot to put in insulation. You hear everything. Thin walls, doors that slam due to the dead bolt automatically stops doors from closing. If you don’t want to sleep and watch loud kids running the hallway, perfect place to stay"
"We have stayed at this hotel many times and were disappointed this last stay. Once we checked in we noticed we only had three towels and two washcloths. We also noticed we had no extra toilet paper just what was on the roll. So that evening I went downstairs and asked for more towels, washcloths and toilet paper since we were staying two nights. The man at the front desk was very nice and accommodated us. That evening before bed we noticed we had no soap. The next morning I went downstairs and asked the lady at the front desk for some soap. I told her I couldn't believe we would have no soap whatsoever in our room. She was just as surprised as me. Housekeeping was standing nearby and overheard my conversation. I went on to tell her about the towels. I told her it seemed as if the person before us had used one of the towels and two of the washcloths and the other towels on the rack were never changed. The lady in housekeeping wanted to know my room. Come to find out she was the one who cleaned our room. She did Apologize, however cleanliness is something that should not be overlooked! There really should be a checklist that all housekeeping should follow. The beds were horrible! You could hear every sound in the hallway from kids running down the hall all through the night. The sink and the shower was not cleaned well------if it was cleaned at all. I would advise to find another hotel. We will not be returning!"
"I spent 4 days there last week with my Son. Nice sized room for 2 adults. Having 2 tv's was nice. Couch area with desk and sink was great for sitting at the end of a long day shopping. Lots of great restaurants close by. The hotel was very clean and any staff we encountered were friendly. We didn't request housekeeping because it's no big deal to make your own bed and use the same towels for a few days. This is a great clean hotel. Yes the carpets look worn but with all the daily traffic hotels experience, I don't know many that the carpets look great in. I would stay hear again for sure."
"We were traveling to Lexington and chose to stay in Erie as it divided our trip pretty much in half. I picked this hotel as it was near the highway, close to shops and restaurants, and was given good ratings for cleanliness. The front desk agents were pleasant upon check-in. We went up to our room before bringing our things in and discovered (around 5 p.m.) there were children upstairs as we could hear them clearly running around and jumping off the furniture. I spoke to the front desk, explained we would need to be in bed early so we could be up early (the normal 10:00 cut off wouldn't really work). The front desk assured us if that if there was an issue later, they would handle it; they would rather not change our room. As expected, we returned to the hotel after going out for the night, got ready for bed, and by 9:15, it was clear nothing had changed. I called down, reminded them of our prior conversation, and was told it would be handled. At 9:30, still nothing had changed. I called down again and asked what the plan was. Something was done to resolve the issue, as the commotion above us stopped. I am grateful to the staff for handling this, but would advise future travelers to make sure they are persistent if staying here to make sure any issues they encounter are handled. Breakfast is included, but we did not choose to try it before leaving the next morning."
