Smart Start Ignition Interlock

"My appointment was at 9am. I showed up early at 845am and the tech off the bat said "you didn't answer". I asked him what he meant. He said Smart Start called me and left a voicemail (which they did not) saying the appt would be delayed. I said not a problem, as I was told the appt would be 2 hours. I waited in my car, as this is a trailer in a parking lot, for an hour until the tech was ready to install system in my car. I had set a MVA appt for 3 hours later which I figured was enough time. When the tech was gearing up to install on my car, I asked him how long it would take and alerted him to my appt. He said "not long your car is easy". Shortly after he came back and said my car "is pain". Several hours later, he said he couldn't find the starter wire, and I should come back the next day for the owner to finish the install. I couldn't believe what he was saying. I took off half a day of work already and had my MVA appt. The solution was come back on another day and try again? So I jumped in to help and I found the starter wire in 15 mins on the passenger side where tech wasn't looking. He even said "don't need to look in there it says a/c". Low and behold there was the starter wire! And then come to find out they cut wires to install the system! There are ways to intercept a wire rather then cut factory wires (that's another discussion). And there was no talk of the install process prior to working, such as cutting wires, nor to cost. When it came to pay, I was amazed and dumbfounded, that I was still being charged $180 for the install, when I was the only reason the tech could finish the install at all. All this and the fact I lost my morning and appt. I couldn't believe it. I requested to speak with the owner, who lacked any professionalism and kept arguing with me that he should charge me more, because his tech didn't know how to do his job. Then, there was another issue setting up the device that took another half hour for the tech to figure out. I was there for 5 hours. I had terrible experience hands down and the owner wasn't reasonable or professional to help make it right. For a service that states best in town, I would stay away from this location."
