H&R Block

"The agent who did out taxes was intentionally rude. Her tone was rude on the phone when i was trying to ask a question. Also Her comment of "It's not like you guys have kids" as if to say we have no other obligations. As if to say that children are the only obligations that people can have. Her tone in general was just plain rude. Then after I gave the paperwork to the receptionist and left instructions in regards to a document would be sent to the agent via email, along with me also having told the agent , it somehow got "lost in communication" and it was implied that the receptionist didn't write down my instructions and I literally watched the receptionist do it and I also said it on the phone which mind you the same agent was getting an attitude when I was asking for her email address. As well as getting loud with me on the phone along with the rude tone and smart mouthed comment. So of course my husband and I were agitated when we came in. The agent then proceeded to give a tragic story about something happening in their personal life as if to say that it excused the rude behavior. It made my husband uncomfortable because it was oversharing and again it was as if that was an excuse for all the rudeness on the phone. So I admit I was rude and had a clipped tone for the remainder of the appointment. The agent also seemed incompetent as well. No apology or even acknowledgement of the rude tone and rude comment on the phone when the "It's not like you have children" comment was a clear sign that they intended to be rude. Then even blaming this event that happened to them outside of work and blaming the receptionist for things "getting lost in communication". No accountability. I am a very understanding person when it comes to things happening outside , everyone has struggles and everyone has something going on in life however it is no excuse to be rude and nasty on the phone when someone didn't give you a reason to be rude. And then not even acknowledging or apologizing for it. So any attempts at small talk were met with a clipped tone. I should not and will not explain accountability to a fully grown adult who was more than twice my age. We had been coming to this place for several years and never had an issue before, I wish I could remember the young gentleman's name that did our taxes there before because he was GREAT! Perhaps if we had gotten this person instead I wouldn't be writing this. She had the nerve to say, "see you guys next year " but don't worry we will NEVER be back and would rather do our own taxes after this. With all that being said, the receptionist was very polite and pleasant. The only reason this place will get even 1 star out of me."

"I could have done my own taxes and made less mistakes than these people. It took them over a month to prepare my taxes and made SO MANY ERRORS I had to go to a different company for them to fix over $15k in mistakes. When I approached them, they refused me any more service and would not even come close to discussing a refund. Don't waste your money. I poured about $1k into this poor excuse of a company."
