"Rooms were as pictured- clean, well-organized. We stayed at the newere units in Tree Tops. We liked the studio-style set up as we were able to buy food from the store and bring it back to cook/heat. They provide basically all that you need - even laundry detergent for the washer/dryer! Service was quick and staff were kind. It's about 10mins away from Shawnee Ski resort. Overall, good value."
"Got one of the updated studio villas in Treetops. Room was nice and I loved having a full kitchen but the mattress was pretty uncomfortable and I HATE the shower. Visually the shower is nice but the water never got hot enough and since it's just half a glass wall (no door or curtain), the shower didn't get warm enough to make up for the lukewarm water. Front desk was great at both check in and out, but if the vacation people ask you to take a tour, just say no. They called me 5+ times, on both my cell phone and my room phone, to first (while we're trying to enjoy the slopes!!) offer me a higher Visa gift for being on time, and then later to confirm (for a 3rd time) that I was going to be there. Both instances they called me a second time after I didn't pick up the first. Ended up canceling on them the last time just because it pissed me off. I'm on vacation, y'all, I don't wanna have a billion phone calls with salespeople!"
"I do not have an experience as far as going to any of these resorts. From what I have been reading it is not a top notch destination. However, I am reaching out to the other owners to explore about the recent assessment of $6000 to do work apparently to this resort. From what I’m understanding it is us that needs to pick up the slack for the owners that have now walked, and now are going to continue to walk. I do not see them staying in business past this coming year, we are most of us on fixed incomes, and cannot afford this , insane assessment. Not with the cost of inflation and prices rising everywhere. There is no way we can afford to pay this. You better readjust and get smart. How sad for us."
"Our stay included a room and villa, but both felt dated, and the 8-inch springy mattresses were uncomfortably lacking support. The early 10 am checkout surprised us; extending it to at least 11 am would align better with common expectations but they wanted to charge $100 for that . The morning of checkout our key cards stopped working at 8am and I had to drive to the front desk to get it activated to grab my luggage and then we had to wait for maintenance to get us in after that didn’t work . Unfortunately, during our visit, amenities like Blue Lightning, Tree Ventures, and the activity center were consistently closed, limiting options for family activities. Additionally, the need to drive 35 minutes for entertainment outside the premises was inconvenient. Overall, improvements in comfort and activity availability would significantly enhance the guest experience."
"The rooms have a 1982 feel. The old counter tops and plaid furniture was like something from your grandfather's den. The wallpaper was starting to peel down from the ceiling joints. The Jacuzzi did not work. The upper two floors were burning up at 71° but the lower level was freezing. The two decks were severely weather beaten from years of neglect. The appliances were straight from the Brady Bunch kitchen complete with the off white/yellowed handles. The toilets were clean but had the water stain ring in them. You need to have a PhD in nuclear physics to figure out the light switches. They spent good money on the Broyhill dressers and bookcase but sadly that was in 1982. The overall design of the unit is perfect, it just needs to be brought up to the current century. One unit will accommodate a family of seven with no issues at all. But again it needs to be updated to 2023 standards."
