Reviews of Wynnewood Recreation Center Private Pool
"I don't like this pool. I don't like the rules I'm tall enough for the 5 feet, but They say you need to take a swimming test. And I'm tall enough. This place I will not be returning."
"I called to get information on how to become a member but first I asked what were the hours and this man he sounded caucasian and spoke very fast he assumed I was just looking for a public pool he didn’t give me a chance to speak he instantly said “this not a public pool thanks for calling” I said first off I am not calling for that please don’t be ignorant and assume I am just looking for a quick swim how do I become a member sir. It just made me not want to sign up with this place. Scott or scout whatever the manager name is he’s very rude. Whatever you do never call this place. The way he answers the phone is terrible."
"More than just a pool or swim club, WRC has many amenities for everyone in the family and community. The pool is large with different areas to swim, a lap lane, and a separate swim pool and fountain for the little kids, which has its own gated area. There is a swing set, volleyball area, corn hole, basketball court, and many picnic tables throughout. There are restrooms as well as a snack stand. The most notable thing for me was the umbrellas attached to the benches so that many people can enjoy a shaded area during a hot day."
"Very nice pool. My girls love it there. They were new in the neighborhood last year and met many new friends. If my girls are happy I am happy."
"The property is beautiful and the snack bar has a wide variety of filling foods. I like how only little kids can play in the splash pool, making sure it’s safe for them. The pool has a deep well with diving board, shallow end, and several lap lanes. I like the volleyball, basketball, and fields for running and kickball. The swim team is a fun experience run by passionate volunteers dedicated to the kids and the competitions. I love seeing how the swimmers eventually become junior coaches and then coaches as they grow, forming a leadership pipeline of sorts. My favorite was volunteering for and running the meet with the beach ball giveaway for swimmers, the highlight being the silly floaty relays. I am glad to see the boundary map published to offer transparency that was before missing. Noticeable however is how overwhelmingly white the membership is. Many times I was the only or one of few non-white people, though the surrounding community is not exclusively white. It makes the pool experience difficult sometimes because not everyone is friendly and often friend groups are tight and difficult to break into. Several factors keep the membership looking a certain way: candidates must be homeowners (no renters allowed) and they must be recommended by two existing members (meaning they must form part of that friend group or know them). While it is a nice campus, these are factors that neighbors must be aware of when considering which of the many local community pools to join."
