Reviews of Washington D.C. Temple Visitors' Center
"I happen to be a member of this church, so maybe I'm a bit to biased to give a helpful review here. If I was not a member of this church I would still really enjoy this visit. Everyone, including the young missionary kids were fun to talk with and kindly gave explanations when needed. They had some decent videos to show. There was a nice place to sit and relax and think. There were plenty of photo ops. Someone who is not a member of the church will not be able to go inside the temple proper, but you can walk all around the grounds and all through the interesting visitor center. There are some nice sculptures. There is a miniature model that describes everything that is inside the temple. This model it is my favorite thing in the visitor center. There are great Christmas lights during the Christmas season. Also during the Christmas season there are nightly Christmas presentations by choirs and Bell ringers and other musicians. A fine place to go and get into a meditative Christmas spirit."
"Magnificent. Especially Magnificent at Christmas. Beautiful shows and lights We visited here from NJ. It watched two performances the Christmas bell choir and the Christmas orchestra. It was so beautiful I cried. The members were so warm and welcoming. It was truly a comfort. At no.point did they ask us to join or for donations, they made it clear it was a gift to the community. There is an indoor & outdoor walk through. It is smaller than Salt Lake City but will take your breath away."
"It had been almost 10 years since we visited The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint in San Diego, CA. Washington DC Temple on the East Coast of the United States is an architectural masterpiece with incredible artworks for families to inspire. Along with biblical stories, you do not have to be of any particular faith or belief to enjoy and appreciate this elegant landmark. The nostalgic members and missionaries are fantastic and energetic in sharing information about the temple, where art, faith, and culture come alive, each with its own unique history and architecture. Time is life in itself, and life resides through the chambers of our hearts."
"We attended a violin performance from a local school and all of the children were amazing, playing so many songs from memory. Such a good time with the cute kids. The Christmas lights around the temple were breathtaking and so much fun to walk around."
"Beautiful and peaceful. My son and I came out to visit DC and made and effort to visit the temple grounds as well. We were not disappointed. The temple is beautiful, as are the grounds. Surrounded by a forested area the temple is secluded from the nearby freeway. I should also note that the missionaries in the visitor center were a delight to interact with. Well worth the time for a visit."
