"I was very disappointed in the amount of trash around the lodge. The woods along the parking lot were loaded with trash, trashcan lids, lawn chairs, cans, and paper. The rooms were so hot, we could not turn down the thermostat, so we turned it off. Other guests opened their balcony doors. The keyless cards did not work half the time. At $200 a night, you expect better."
"We had one of the cabins! It had it's own hot tub and an apartment size washer and dryer! That way we didn't have to put on cold wet bathing suits! The cabin had a gas fireplace that was perfect! Will definitely be back!"
"Came here with a friend who works at one of the other lodges. Wonderful trip. We had a four bedroom cabin with its own hot tub. Went to the lodge and took some pictures and looked around and use the hot tub over there as well. And the gift shop had lots to offer. The cabin had a gas fireplace, and the lodge has a wood burning fireplace in the lobby. Awesome place! Highly recommended!"
"This review is mostly for the cabins on the property, as we stayed in them vs the lodge. We have stayed many times at Mohican State Park in those cabins, and expected these to be relatively the same, only larger, given they were over $100 more per night. Boy were we wrong. These cabins are FILTHY. The steps to the second floor had clearly not been swept in some time and had large clumps of visible dirt. The carpet was completely ripped up and missing at the entrance to both bedrooms, exposing the concrete floor beneath, and a piece of trim was missing next to the bunkbeds leaving huge nails protruding. We had to call maintenance to fix that, as it was an obvious hazard to anyone attempting to get into bed. Every piece of furniture needed replaced. The chairs had huge stains and anything wood had considerable wear and tear. The dark paint throughout made the whole place dark and did little to disguise the filth. We wore shoes at all times so our socks and feet wouldn't be covered in dirt. Relatives stayed in a nearby cabin so we were able to visit theirs and observe it to be in the same filthy and dilapidated state. The layout itself was very odd, and because the family room wraps around the central staircase, more than one person couldn't even comfortably face the TV, let alone multiple people sit down and face each other for a conversation. This is not a cabin worth $300 a night. Think of "lobby at a worn down summer camp" for an idea of the furnishings and cleanliness. Without a complete update I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone at these exorbitant prices. I can't be alone in thinking this, as this is one of the few state parks that boasts multiple cabin vacancies throughout the summer. That should have been my first clue that these were not desirable accommodations. The cabins are mostly unshaded and it's a long walk to the lodge with a glaring lack of sidewalks for most of the route. The lodge itself is very nice and well kept, and the staff there is helpful. If only the cabins were half as nice."
"We had a church marriage retreat here and the venue was almost perfect for this. I would also highly recommend it for a larger family reunion or a company employee family weekend. The rooms were great, and the amenities are really good for these types of events. The location offers many avenues for activity, whether nature, sport, or city. The only complaint was that our conference room was not vacuumed before our use and was fairly dirty."
