Woodmont West at Mt. Arlington

"THIS PLACE IS A HORRIBLE PLACE!!! Not even worth 1 star. We moved in Sept of 2022 and could not wait to get out (we moved out Sept Sept 2023, a month early despite having to pay for the extra month, because they force you into a 13 month lease vs 12). Aside from hearing all the cars on the highway and having walls so thin you can almost hear your neighbor breathe, they charge fees for anything they can. Taking out the trash, paying a utility bill, parking, receiving packages, using the club house. All cost extra, and they actually force you (no choice given) to set up utilities through them and then they charge you for the convenience of having them handle the bills, and for each utility bill they handle. And it's not cheap. Also, for the trash they have people leave trash in the hallways and then charge you to take the trash away, and you have no choice but to pay. It's far from luxurious to come home to trash in the hallways after a long day. The pool always had issues as well. We also had a leak that kept us from using our main bedroom whenever it rained. They failed to fix it and then would not give us credit for the lack of being able to use our main bedroom. Then when we moved out, they tried to charge as much against our security deposit as possible. They will fine you for normal wear and tear. They took half my deposit, we lived here for less than one year, never put up a picture, took great care of everything and they still found ways to take our $. THIS PLACE IS A HORRIBLE PLACE!!!"

"On August 14th, 2023 I was reviewing a lease agreement with Woodmont West apartment buildings located in Mt. Arlington, NJ. When Woodmont West sent me the lease agreement they charged the security deposit to the credit card that I used to file the application prior to the lease being signed. I ended up no signing the lease and moved elsewhere, so I notified Woodmont West of this and requested my security deposit be refunded. They did agree to send me a check and refund the money, however, that was now over 60 days ago. I have sent them multiple emails trying to get this resolved but there has been no resolution."

"Put a security deposit down with plans of moving in, changed our minds and now having issues getting my money returned weeks later! They also later informed me of the sneaky fine print in their policy stating that they will keep $300 of your deposit if they’re not informed of a cancellation in a short time frame. So not only am I not getting my deposit returned to me, but they are keeping an entire third of it! As if they were going to have any trouble renting that same apartment out to someone else within the week, just a scam way to pocket some extra pay. I have sent numerous emails and called by phone regarding the return of my money and they just keep giving me the run around. They have no trouble withdrawing from your account immediately, but they sure do have trouble returning what’s not theirs in a timely manner! I plan to reach out to corporate regarding this specific location considering their lack of efficiency and dishonesty."

"We love living here. We have great neighbors, the facilities are nice and are kept up well, and if we have any issues, they are responded to very quickly. Both the office staff and maintenance staff are extremely nice and helpful. Can't recommend this place enough. And a special mention to Jammie and Jeremy. They're great."

"I have lived here for almost 2 years and I don't have any major complaints. I expect some noise in an apartment but that has been minimal. Other reviews mention havoc with mail and I have to agree that that system has some quirks but I have not had any misplaced packages. I think when items are delivered and left in the wrong place that causes confusion and delays. The parking methodology is not well executed. When I first moved in my parking space assigned was not at all close were at least 20 unreserved closer slots.I requested a change and was denied, wasn't a huge deal but now all of the closer spots are taken so I just wonder how they figure that out. My advice would be to say something when you move in if you notice that problem and not wait like I did. I recommend this place, residents are friendly and respectful, the front office has helped with my needs."
