"Our host Xavier was great! The Arnold Palmer was the best I've had anywhere, and the poptart was cute... and that's where my story takes a turn. Granted, it was snowing outside when we decided to visit, this place has zero insulation, and we were freezing sitting upstairs with no heat available.. which makes for an already uncomfortable meal setting. The broccoli & cheddar soup came out lukewarm, and didn't help warm us up. It was runny and had an off-putting taste... as if the broccoli was going bad. None of us finished either of our 3 entrées, and neither of the 3 of us wanted to bring it home... they just weren't that tasty. My sisters ordered the corned beef and the crab dish pictured here with the eggs...and I ordered the crab benedict- which was very underwhelming. That red tomato, in my opinion, doesn't belong on this dish... it changes the taste...and the hollandaise was unseasoned. I only ate 1, and I had to force myself to finish it. The homemade poptart was good. We tried the strawberry cheesecake and the original berry (it's the better of the two). If I were out with friends and they suggested to stop here, I wouldn't go back."
"The food here is creative and some of the best breakfast food you will have. The “Roo Tarts” are phenomenal. The service however was abysmal. We sat there for 20 minutes before they even took our order. And when we were given our tarts, we weren’t given utensils to eat them so we had to eat them with our hands like the animals we are. They were so delicious so we didn’t care so much. But this place would be a much better dining experience with better service."
"This is my second time eating here. We recently stopped by this place for dinner one night and it was delicious! Food came out fast, our server was very polite, and the place is really cozy. I got the pancakes and waffles with homefries.. absolutely delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and crunchy around the edges and the chicken was very flavorful (not dry at all). I was not the biggest fan of the bourbon butter and would order regular butter next time around, but that was not a deal breaker for this place. My boyfriend got the burger and fries and the fries were absolutely delicious as well. Super crunchy and soft on the inside and lots of flavor. I am sure I'll be eating here again next time we visit Downtown Annapolis."
"Alright sports fans, my boy and I came to Annapolis to watch Navy win on a fine Saturday evening. Gotta love Navy blue and gold. We headed out the next day and the man-cub chose the brunch spot. Huge line at the Iron Rooster, but it moved faster than advertised. We got seated on the patio. Crisp fall day, but the heaters heat! Don’t overlook the outdoor seating. Lexi the server crushed it. Great recommendations and she is a welcoming/warm human. Thanks Lex! Great food, coffee, and a great cap-off to a victory weekend. I think they might even serve you if you are Army, but feel free to explore other venues."
"Stopped by here early one evening during the Christmas season midnight madness events as it has a great location near everything and a very large delicious looking menu. They had the place nicely decorated for the holidays so that it was very festive, and the host / hostess were very friendly and helpful in getting us a table upstairs looking out over the alleys of the city. They had a nice menu of seasonal drinks and a full cocktail list, as well as wine and beer. The food menu is very large and features breakfast all day too. Unfortunately, things were less incredible from there out. The prices are really pretty astounding. For example, I got the breakfast combo at $16 which literally only includes 2 pancakes, 2 sausage, and 2 eggs. At your local breakfast places, this will run you about $8 or is known as Grand Slam at Denny's and includes 2 more pieces of meat for $10. Shrimp and grits bowl was $26. Cocktails run $10-14 and the prices on the menu exclude all alcohol and sales taxes, making them much more than that. The food and drink quality was average but definitely diner quality and not up to the level of the price point. Our server was robot-like efficient and delivered our food fine but was not particularly friendly and ignored attempts at casual friendly conversation. The star of the evening though was definitely the giant Pop-Tart, which was more fairly (but far from cheap) priced at $11 and was nicely presented and delicious and actually tasted JUST like a pop tart. Big fan of that creation. Overall, I realize food is more expensive in the city and that they probably have a big investment in their real estate and real estate taxes being in the heart of Annapolis, but I just can't imagine making much effort to go here again, although happy to stop in if visitors are really passionate about trying it. Now, ordering a giant pop-tart for takeout, that might just be the best option at this place."
