Holiday Inn Express Bordentown - Trenton South, an IHG Hotel

"My stay here at the Holiday Inn Express, intended to be a six-night visit, was cut drastically short due to a series of disturbing experiences. Upon entering my room, I was immediately confronted with a lack of cleanliness that went far beyond tolerable. The most alarming discovery was the presence of ants in the bathroom and, shockingly, on the bedding. This alone was enough to question the hygiene standards of the hotel. However, the issues didn't end there. The bathroom was in a deplorable state, with visible hair and urine on the toilet – an absolutely unacceptable condition for any guest room. To add to this, the sheets on the bed were stained with what appeared to be blood, a sight that was not only unhygienic but pretty gross. I slept in a sleeping back instead of in their sheets. I reported these issues to the front desk, expecting immediate action and, at the very least, an apology. Instead, the response was bafflingly inadequate. A housekeeper was sent to my room, who then asked me what specifically needed cleaning – a question that should have been blatantly obvious given the state of the room. The overall state of the room was so distressing that I avoided using the shower and decided to check out after just two nights, despite my original plan for a longer stay. Throughout this ordeal, there was no apology from the hotel staff, nor any offer of a discount or other compensation for the deeply substandard and unsettling conditions I encountered. This experience at the Holiday Inn Express was not just disappointing, but genuinely distressing. The lack of basic hygiene, combined with an inadequate response from the hotel staff, has left a lasting negative impression. I hope that my feedback prompts a serious reconsideration of both cleanliness standards and customer service protocols at this establishment."

"If I could give a zero I would. We stayed in a 2 beds in room and in the middle of the night we woke up to getting bit by BED BUGS. I let the staff know in the middle of the night and had to wake my kids up to move to another room. When I left i asked the manager call me to see what can be done as they were going to give me a "discount ". I told the lady no I want a full refund, as I was so tired the next morning and had a big event to attend. I have emailed several times with only a response as they did not receive the pictures. I sent them 4x now and it's been two days and still no response back. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! stay at a different hotel, the manager doesn't care, and customer service was horrible. Also to add the coffee tasted like burnt coffee and the breakfast was disgusting."

"I've stayed in a lot of IHG properties, mostly Holiday Inn. This is one of the worst. It's utterly disgusting. From the carpet that has never been cleaned, to the non-existent housekeeping, look elsewhere. Definitely does not adhere to the ihg clean promise. On the second day, I had to get my own towels, as they don't have housekeeping for multiple day stays. I complained about that and they said they would attend to my room and get me some new towels and make the beds, but when we got back in the evening, it wasn't done. I'm on vacation and getting a hotel and not doing daily chores is part of that experience. Not this place, they will ruin your vacation. The smell of dirty carpet, old beds, a ceiling tile crashing down in the middle of the night outside my room, a disgusting object under the bed (you can guess what it was), broken shower liner, missing soap in the shower(I asked 4 times for soap and they never brought it... had to go to the night front desk to finally get some soap), and couldn't get any channelson the tv. The place is old and falling apart. The owner is horrible, won't take care of his guests and doesn't care that he is ruining someone's vacation. Called ihg, they could care less as well. I will be reporting this establishment to the county health department. You can't have items with human fluids laying around, and you have to provide soap. You've been warned."

"I enjoy my stay here. Rooms were very clean and everything worked. It's really nice to have a microwave in the room. Room didn't feel damp and moldy. Front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast had a lot of options to choose from and was of good quality."

"We REALLY REALLY ENJOYED THIS PLACE!!! Where do I start? First, the service is EXCELLENT- the staff is accommodating and always helpful. The air conditioning unit in our room started leaking and they were concerned about our comfort and offered another room. But honestly, we were so comfortable with our beds were didn’t want to move! Man! Did we sleep well here! (My husband, my 2 kids and me). My family loved the pool. And they accommodated our need for extra time. AND the coffee was excellent. Bottom line- nice, clean hotel with a great professional and accommodating staff! We plan to be back!"
