"My favorite restaurant in the world. Authentic Japanese diner food in the most unlikely of places. I've frequented Yama since ~2015 after I returned from a study abroad trip to Japan, and the quality has never declined. The service is great, the atmosphere is great, and the food is delicious. I urge you to have a meal at Yama; you won't regret it."

"I've been wanting to visit Yama for months now, and finally got the opportunity to go for dinner on Wednesday. Though their hours are limited, it was well worth the visit. Casual and cozy interior, we ordered our meal at the counter - spicy tuna rolls, miso ramen, the pork cutlet and fried salmon bento boxes. The boxes came with a delicious array of side salads and miso soup, arranged with a lot of care. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in their food. All the food was perfectly cooked..highlight for me was the fried salmon, which was super crispy but moist and juicy inside. Absolutely delicious meal and I highly recommend visiting!!"

"What a find! This casual (order & pay at the counter and then seat yourself) gem should be added to your dining list. We ordered spicy tuna rolls, gyoza, shrimp udon and an eel bowl. Everything was fresh and tasty. Yum! I’m sorry we will only be in town overnight because other menu items caught my eye. The staff was friendly and helpful."
