"basic sushi. i was there alone at empty bar and the guy had his back to me for a solid 5 minutes doing something on the computer. i almost left but i was hungry. the bill came and it wasn’t itemized at all but it didn’t add up. i finally got his attention and asked about the total and he informed me that it included a 20% gratuity. no indication of that on the bill, but there was a place to add a tip. very sneaky. also saw a giant rat outside, although it was clean inside and may be unrelated. saw 2 cars with smashed windows on the street and more broken glass. not a place I would bring a date."
"Tokyo Pearl is a vibe. Outdoor & indoor seating, both are decorated and felt cozy. I loved my unique seat, it hung, and is so soft. It was fun swinging in it, too! It was a busy evening (happy hour times 4-7pm), so wait time was a reasonable 10-15ish minutes. But, the food was worth it! The dumplings came hot and the sauce was fire. Same with the sushi, I enjoyed every bite. The servers were putting in their best effort and you could feel how much they care about your food experience. Mizael and Richard were lovely hosts, they served me with kindness. You could tell how much work they were dealing with but they still maintained a great attitude. I felt comfortable with them. I also enjoyed that you could visibly see the chefs cooking if you walk in fully, they also had great attitudes and make you feel welcome. Overall, I enjoyed my time there, I went alone and it felt like great self-care. 10/10 would recommend."
"Great atmosphere and lovely decorations. See their “sushi garden” in the back of the restaurant! There is some lovely seating in egg chairs for duos and some decorated tables for 3-4 people. All highlighted with seasonal decorations and lights. I came during Halloween season so there were colored spiderwebs on everything. The atmosphere was amazing. The food… not so great. It was edible at least, but portions were small with high prices and the quality was terrible. I tasted both a raw salmon dish and the chicken teriyaki and both were mediocre. Don’t come here for the food."
"The restaurant is so pretty and lovely to take photos. Sushi was delicious but it was very little food. Also, the waiting time was a little high but anyway, it is a good choice is you are around"
"Super cool vibe and fun atmosphere but won’t be back. Food was good, not great. Portions were small for price. But biggest issue was service. Had a reservation but had to wait because the hostess was also a server and bartender. Come to find out, there were only 3 servers for the entire place and they were also simultaneously the bar tenders, so they were literally running back and forth. I was actually kind of stressed for them. We had to leave our table and go to the bar to ask for the check after waiting about 20 mins just to ask for the check. FYI they also add a 20% gratuity for all checks. Biggest issue, they need more servers."
