Reviews
"Small museum in a beautiful building. Staff is nice. Worth a trip."
"Fun and educational! My class had a blast, my only regret is running out of time. If you like museums or historical stuff, you'll have fun."
"A surprisingly good university museum. They have quite a few displays centered on ancient history. I certainly doubled my knowledge of cuneiform. Seriously cool. The museum looks well funded and well curated. There are nice places to get snacks, and the gift shop is hard to resist. Also, admission is free for teachers, and there is a parking garage right next door."
"The museum is wonderful. My tour guide, Michelle, was extraordinary. She was so insightful and had so much knowledge to share. I’d love to revise this review in the future. My issue is that for some reason, their system kept saying my credit card was attempted to be used too many times and so it would not process. This was not a balance issue or a bank issue, as the bank did not even see the transactions attempted. Penn Museum’s system kept trying to prevent a mistake. I’ve worked retail and have had to override these before, I know what this is. Yet it was unfixable and so with only bringing one card with me, I was unable to get anything at the gift shop and was nearly denied entry until an attempted manual card process worked. And given that the museum shop is inside the museum, I’ll have to pay another entry fee just to come back and get anything that I couldn’t pick up. Not to mention that regardless of the truth it always looks embarrassing when a card doesn’t process."
"Excellent Museum! For its small size, it is packed with artifacts, in-depth information & interactive exhibits. The current special exhibit on ancient foods is super cool. It is so immersive, I would recommend going a couple times to focus on a particular area(s). The information provided for most of the artifacts is very in depth and educational. A great learning experience for any age and background. A great tip - it's only 8/10 mile from 30th street station! Take the train in, and walk to the museum."
