Reviews of Maaco Auto Body Shop & Painting
"Dishonest business. I paid $2100 to have rust cut out and patch panels welded in and repainted. They laid body filler over the rust and painted it. They never cut out the rust and welded in patch panels. Now the rust has come through and body filler and paint is cracked and pulling away from the panel. They don't warranty rust and obviously don't do the work you pay for. This Maaco used to do quality work. Not anymore. New owner will not accept responsibilty for the terrible work done. Avoid this business. Total waste of money with nothing to show for it. Owner offered to give me an estimate to redo the work that was supposed to be done. Very nice of her. We should all have to pay twice. Terrible work and terrible customer service."
"Took truck here to get scratch on door repaired and rust repaired on wheelwells and get them painted. 3 months after work was done, paint was peeling and rust popping through. Gave them an additional $900 to fix and cut out rust. Now a year and a half later and the paint is bubbling and rust is showing through again. I went and talked to new owner. She told me to contact corporate for a warranty claim. Corporate denied the claim. I spoke to the owner again and she, Farhana, said there was nothing she could do as the new owner. Their rust policy is 90 days. I spent $2100 for work that lasted a year and a half. Terrible work. Terrible service. Terrible warranty. New ownership is terrible. Farhana is not an honorable business owner. Not even willing to work with me on the price to get it fixed. Huge waste of money."
"It was the second time I used Maaco and both were for body work. They were much less expensive than other places and I got three estimates. They did a great job and the staff were terrific, especially the manager. I used the Macco in Maple Shade, NJ."
"This is how they treat customers spending $4000 out of pocket to get their car refinished for a fresh look. I am severely disappointed in the handling of my service. I had originally had another car refinished for $2500 around 6 years ago and they did a fantastic job other than a pricing disparity, prompting me to return again for them to fix up my new project last year. It needed slightly more work than the first car I brought, and they quoted $4000, and would be done in 3 weeks. It took 3 months. They agreed to repaint, fix the body, and realign the bumpers, and not paint over any of the grilles. I had removed most of the plastics, spoiler, tail lights, anything that would get in the way of a nice paint job for them. 3 weeks go by, and no word. I call and ask for an update Friday, it will be done Monday they said. Monday comes, they said it will be done Friday. Friday comes, they said it will be done Monday. After a month, I drive over and my car had not been touched. I give them another 2 weeks, call again, it will be done Monday. On Monday it will be done Friday. I drive over again, my car had not been touched. After 2 months I go talk to them in person, and they said give them one more week. It takes them 2 months to even start on the car. I keep checking in once a week and keep getting the “next week” treatment. After 3 more weeks, I drive over to check on it and it had finally been painted with terrible thick paint runs, the side skirt missing, and my hood vent broken. This is a rare car and body parts are not easily replaceable. I go in to tell them about the broken hood vent. They said they will take care of it, and I also agreed to purchase a headlight restoration with them as it was needed. Another 2 weeks go by after the car was already painted, I get confused because a headlight restoration shouldn't take two weeks. Apparently the guy that was working on my car had quit. I ask them once again how much longer, because they never once called me to update me even though the car was over 2 months behind schedule. They say a few more days. Finally, they call me to come pick it up, and it is unfinished. Polishing compound sprayed all over the car which is still stuck to the car and cant be cleaned, cutting swirls all over the paint severely visible in the sun, and they had not fixed the hood vent. They said they will give me a free headlight restoration instead. Thats great, except they trapped a massive hair in the headlight clear coat, and sanded too deep and burned the plastic. The bumpers were not aligned, they broke my light bulbs re installing my tail lights, they also reinstalled my spoiler with the wire harness running through the trunk seal instead of where its supposed to go so I had to take it off and re install it properly anyway. They left hammer marks where they chiseled my badging off the trunk, didn't bother to replace the badging, left dull non clear coated spots all over. Their excuse was “they didn't want to hold the car any longer.” The body work was wavy, the battery needed to be replaced because they left it sitting for a whole season, and the icing on the cake, when I drove away the car had no brakes. The brake fluid had leaked out of the lines which were not leaking when I brought it in. I do not blame them for this, as the lines were pretty rusty, but it appears they were using the parking brake to stop the vehicle and now the parking brake assembly is destroyed in the driver rear. Secondly, they didn't bother to tell me the car leaked out brake fluid so when I left I could have crashed the car. As a shop manager myself, I am overall disgusted with this service. Now, the paint job is beginning to crack. Don't go here. Will add photos in near future."
"Got a full body custom paint job and I love it! It’s exactly what I was hoping for. Kelly, Jess, Bryan, and the rest of the staff were really helpful and informative regarding any questions or concerns I had. The attention to detail was impressive. Would definitely recommend these guys for any body work they’re awesome!"
